Before the First Stars
A team of astronomers have used the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) “to boldly go where no man has gone before”: to observe and measure the composition of gas clouds before any stars formed. The JWST’s primary mission is to explore the cosmic dawn-the first billion years of cosmic history. Astronomers took a high-resolution spectrum of a giant gas cloud in the halo of GN-z11, a bright galaxy 13.38 billion light-years away, corresponding to only 410 million years after the big bang creation event. The only elements found in the gas cloud’s spectrum were hydrogen and helium. This is the first time astronomers detected an object in the universe where no elements heavier than helium exist. This discovery affirms a major prediction of the biblically predicted big bang creation model: that before stars formed, the elemental composition of the universe, by mass, will be 75.33% hydrogen, 24.67% helium, and a trace amount of lithium. The level of ionization in the gas cloud revealed that the stars in GN-z11’s core must all be in the range of 50-1,000 times the Sun’s mass. This mass range explains why astronomers observe many bright galaxies and several supermassive black holes in the cosmic dawn. All these discoveries provide yet more evidence that the more we learn about the universe, the more evidence we accumulate that a God beyond space and time created and exquisitely designed the universe so that at the just-right time and location, humans could live and thrive.
The Universe: 28 Gyr Old?
Recent images from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) found galaxies that, given their age, appeared far larger and more complex than expected. In more lay-level arenas, this discovery was used to cast doubt on the standard big bang cosmological model. However, this discovery generated quite a bit of excitement in the scientific community because it revealed a fun problem to investigate. Consequently, astronomers have invested much effort trying to understand how to explain these large, complex galaxies. An author of a recent paper attempts to understand these galaxies by modifying how light propagates through the universe and by having some fundamental constants change over time. A careful analysis of this latter approach shows how standard big bang cosmology (with dark energy and dark matter) can give a robust explanation of the universe-and provide evidence for the God of the Bible.

@Chazd1949 Me too. Back in 1986. heard Dr Hugh Ross live with M D Alex Metherell. Hugh on cosmology Alex on medical scientific fact on the crucifixion of Christ. In was the meeting that restored my faith. Having become so dissolutioned with church matters in general. So I hear what you are saying. God bless and Shalom.

Thats a great discussion. I appreciate Dr. Ross' decades of optics on the coming and goings and substantive reasons for those inevitable reasoning and exploratory swings , yet Dr. Ross evokes more of my confidence in his body of incredible insight and work during this time in saying...Ya, been there , heard and done and debated and conjectured through that before. Holding that Aradnian thread steadfastly through time. Moreover Dr. Ross teaches us how to listen and respect the foil rather than falling prey to a swashbuckling interruptive back and forth. It’s very likely light (since it’s a longitudinal wave) is being perpendicularly stretched by gravitational fields as it travels through space simulating an expanding universe. We already know light is affected by gravity longitudinally by the fact that gravitational red shift exists. Why not laterally also.

In physics matter and energy cannot make or direct themselves. So there was a time when matter and energy were made as well as time itself since time can’t exist without a great amount of matter. This means there was a time when time was made in the not too distant past. This shows that every physical thing is the result of the Creation. Only your Creator can perfectly cover for you Himself and remake you again from the inside out by the power of His true word as no one else ever can. This is the only absolute truth in existence.

I think there is a typo in the title of the video, should it be "28B yr Old?" not Gyr old?

G (giga = billions) is sometimes used instead of B (billions). It just so happens that M (millions) and M (mega) have the same letter and designate the same multiplier prefix. So the misunderstanding is common. Don't feel alone.

I think the standard narrative has evolved to say gazillion just in case they find more and larger super clusters of fully formed galaxies at a farther distance. Pretty soon we will have to appeal to a "force and go generic lest we offend someone. The Holy Spirit will convict the world of Sin because they believe not on the name of the creator "Jesus" and sustainer of all things. He validated Genesis and all that was written because "HE" is the spoken word from the mouth of The Father. His voice is the voice of many waters, His voice is the voice of many trumpets, His voice is the voice of the seven thunders and He spoke and the heavens appeared and they remain until He wills for them to be dissolved. Does Hugh believe that we all hover in the blackness of space for a gazillion years until Jesus atom by atom creates a new heaven and a new earth? Nonsense! Unbelief! Holy Spirit, convict the world of unbelief in the Creator who gave us language so we could understand just a small fraction of who He actually is !

Let's see, the Bible states: The universe had an absolute beginning, Verse 1 - check The universe is expanding, 11 verses / 5 authors - check That would be the definition of the "Big Bang." - Right? Coincidence? But wait, the Bible also states (All on page 1): 4 correct starting conditions of the early Earth - check 10 Creation events in the correct chronological sequence - check Land plants came BEFORE sea animals ‐ check It is not possible for all of this to have been accurately documented thousands of years ago when these events occurred thousands, to millions, to billions of years before the authors were born. (Documented thousands of years ago!) ‐ Right? Quote from you, "No, even if you think it provides evidence for a creator, there is no link or evidence that creator is the God of the Bible" So, exactly where did the Biblical authors get this information from? Space aliens? Or, wait for it….. Elohim? Yahweh? Aka ‐ “the God of the Bible.” Care to reconsider your opinion?

@@ji8044 In which century do you live in? The Earth was not Created before the sun. Nor does the Bible state that. The Earth is 4.5662 +/- 0.0001 billion years old. Which I doubt you know. The Earth was completely covered with water 2 times. The first time it was covered with thousands of kilometers of water before the merger with Theia. Does the sun revolve around the Earth? This is 2024, right? Perhaps you should actually study the text for yourself, before making comments. Stop listening to gossip and rumors from fools.
