man every time Reason comes out with some new device i think "well that's cool but I don't really need a new delay/poly synth/vocoder/whatever"... and then i see what yall did with it and think "oh i NEED that"

I must say that this is a one pretty damn well thought and designed delay. I was a bit skeptical on how this can take The Echo place, but you made it complex enough to experiment and cover all possible aspects while simple enough for anyone to immediately understand how it works and play around with. Well done Reason on this clever UX (and it sounds great too!) 👏 In fact it sounds so good it even made Ryan's banjo sound decent :P

I’ve spent the past year making delay networks with VCV Rack to use in Reason. Ripley is the answer to easily achieve those sounds all inside Reason. I like the dual references in the name with Ripley being like the surface of the water. Thank you!

Great video explaining the new Delay unit in Reason. Playing around with the beta a bit I am very excited for the new devices in R13. Both Ripley and Polytone are a great addition to the rack and the utility devices will become standards in every production, just because are so useful and quick. Also great routing options on almost all new devices which is great for the Rack. I hope the utility devices will become a new device family with more additions in the future. A quick filter utility with LP, BP and HP and frequency splitting that go from 0-20 kHz would be fantastic for my workflow. great work on the devices

Banjo is dope, I actually wish Reason would show more of the capabilities it has to produce rock genre, as that's all I produce in Reason. This looks so awesome, can't wait to use it.
@totigerus7 ай бұрын
I try to make rock music in reason, but there's so many synths that it ends up distracting me and my shit always comes out ELECTRONIC. I do love using The Reason Drum Kits plugin though. It probably would be different if I played guitar and not drums. 🤷♂
@SeanConroy19817 ай бұрын
@@totigerus haha, I can see that for sure. I have that plugin as well, though I use SSD5.5 all the time for drums. I find having Reasons electronic side helpful for adding electronic elements to the overall sound, as I'm not producing like just guitar bass drum rock and roll, think more like Death Cab for Cutie, stuff that does have synths and electronics in it.

That banjo is amazing and sounds super cool! (As well as your other tracks)Thanks for the deep dive. I’ve been using Reason since version 4. You have some of the highest quality tutorials I’ve watched in the thousands of hours I’ve devoted to this damn program. I switched to Studio One for awhile and liked it but switched back to Reason because it was simply more fun to use. My only request is (like everybody else) MPE support. Selfishly I want to fully utilize my Osmos Expressive E. (Still waiting for the Deep Dive). Also….my other only request is: Could you start a series that does this for the original Rack Extensions? Not only would we learn useful tips and tricks it would be a great general synthesis tutorial that anyone would benefit from.

Hey reason studios , why don't you upgrade the dsp algoritms of the older devices like thor and subtractor instead of trying to reinvent the wheel ??

maybe they have ?
@WARDISWARD7 ай бұрын
@@fiddlestickzmuzik No they have not , otherwise they would have mentioned it , Subtractor was great back in the day but now the filters are absolute garbage , same goes for thor (while not as bad as subtr) Scream aliases like a mofo Threre is so much potential , they just need to update the old dsp tech , now it mostly sounds like early 2000's tech and thats eexactly what it is Perhaps make it all true audio rate modular , cv running at sample rate just like reaktor , vcv rack etc

U know, Propellerhead would blow the technical competition away with their playful approach, if they just released their entire effects catalog as standalone plug-ins.
