Does size really matter?...ya know...for sissy bars? Today I installed my Burly Brand sissy bar on my Rebel 1100 and compared it to my OEM Honda Passenger Backrest. There seemed to be a clear winner based off of Nina's reaction, but I'll let you be the judge...

I got the exact same size burly bar for my Sportster 1200, it is a night and day the difference compared to the sliding butt-stopper like your honda one which I had on my Honda Shadow. My sportbike friends say it's not cool, but I am really into the classic cruiser style, it's definitely an acquired taste but it's definitely worth it.

Finally got too get my first ride on my 1100 yesterday here in upstate ny. I love the bike so much. I definitely like the look of the Honda one better. An I rode solo 90% of the time. I’m almost willing to bet this will NOT bolt right up to the 1100T without a bit of work since the bags mount where this mounts. I’d imagine you’d need a sissy bar with a thin flat base similar to the OEM Honda passenger backrest.

Looks great and super clean! I knew your ol lady will appreciate it better than that Honda one. Im in the same boat as far as flat black vs. gloss. When I was getting into bikes 7 years ago I was all about flat black but over time it just looks dingy and you can never wax it. Honda should have just color matched the whole bike to gloss or flat from the start.

What do you think on me getting this as my first bike. I mainly want it for cruising around town with my buddy. Do you know if there's a way to safely increase the 350ish pound weight limit on the Rebels? I'm a 200lb dude, and if I have a backpack and a passenger slightly less than me I'll be over the Rebel's limit where I'd be fine on an Iron 883 with their 430 pound weight limit. I really like the Rebels, but the weight limit downside might bring me back to the Harley side of the fence. Really wish they'd update the Irons with more tech.

I was wondering, is there a reason you didn't place the Thrashing saddlebag tie downs behind the Bar when installing? Sort of leaving them where you had them and placing the bar over them, thus removing the need for a washer? Putting them on the outside looks like they could be bent. I'm asking as I actually have the same set up coming in and figured you probably had a reason for doing it that way.
