@@Dvniemela I have stock turbo, IC, all IC piping, exhaust manifold, O2 housing, heat shield, injectors, stock air box etc. Also have Acessport V3 loaded with a protune for cobb 3 port, inlet pipe and drop in high flow filter match those mods and u would be good to go. Was making 320 - 330whp with those mods

I love the content! I by no means am an engine builder, but make sure you apply the force on the toque wrench to the middle of the handle. Torque wrenches are calibrated and designed for the force to be applied there. The wrench can over torque or under torque depending on where you apply the force if it is not in the middle of the handle.

Loving the content as a mitsubishi mech that don't have a lot of evos in except the outlanders and the "monteros" as you call them. In our shop this is awesome :) Every EVO we had in the shop has always been for the Takata airbag recalls. Cuz in Sweden everyone is a DIYer :D It's awesome! Keep them vids coming man! Loving all this Evo content. LHT for S2k's and DN for Evo's gold.... I reckon it would be awesome if you did a few early model Evo builds. Like your 8 but with engine rebuilds etc. There really isnt as well put together channels like yours doing such content. Well thats my wish list hahaha.

Devin set the bore gauge with the mic to the diameter of the pistons then check the bore it will give you the clearance. Love you.vidios ate.

Dont think it was mentioned but did you end up checking crank end play? Just seen someone build an evo motor locally, didn't check that and pretty much destroy the whole bottom end on first startup. Also, I would recommend to disable the clutch start safety switch when you do the prime start

I suggest looking around for machine shop auctions going on in you area there is a good chance you could find some good measuring equipment

Liking the daily videos. Love Evos and STIs. I have a 2015 STI and I really want to start chomping at it. Also. Are you using a very light coat of oil on the rim of the rings to check gap? It can affect the actual gap.

Take your micrometer and set it to the size you are looking for then take the dial bore gauge and set it up inside the micrometer, then you can zero out the bore gauge to get the proper readings.

Did you re-shim the valves? I wanna know if re-shimming is necessary, also did you torque the crank pulley bolt or you just tighten it with the impact?

I have only one negative comment. If you use a torque wrench ALWAYS hold it by the grip, otherwise youre torque is off the setting. For the rest great video and love are more

Could have set your calipers at exactly 3 inches, calibrated bore gauge, then moved the actual gauge on the bore gauge to be correct.
