This takes me back to when I was 16 years old. I picked up a 1948 Oldsmobile that was a rust bucket. Sanded it down, bought a gallon of high gloss paint and a 4” brush and painted it. Looked great from 50 feet away. Had a straight 8 (40’ ft long🤪) and leaked more oil than burned gas. Your paint job was much better. Gave the car to the garbage man one Christmas and my mom never had to take her cans to the curb again.........memories

For your MAF, use the MX2 by torquerush, it takes 2x maf sensors, does all the calculations and sends a single maf sensor signal to the ECU

This is such a cool build. Those rims look badass. And that intake - it's a lotta work, but it's gonna be one of a kind. I learned today that one can pour their own bushings. The MAF problem can be solved in one of two ways. Either use two sensors with a circuit to average them, or bring the inlet off both turbos to a common filter housing. It might also be possible to delete it and run in speed density mode if the ECM allows it.

If you need some gauges for the first startup. Buy a bluetooth OBD2 reader off amazon for 15 dollars (Us) and the Torque app for your phone or tablet. You can use the app for gauges and read/clear engine codes. The bluetooth reader and app work surprisingly well. I use mine all the time to read and clear codes. I also use it for gauges in my project s10. I molded a tablet into the dash and hardwired the charger so it always has power. The app has a dashboard feature so you can add any gauge too the screen you want. It will read any data that the computer has and you can have a gauge for said data. Its completely customizable with gauge style color and size. It's a pretty cool little deal. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cheap code reader.

Well I option to give it to you Deboss, a guy who likes kitties better than a yellow mutt with a missing ear, and three legs. That truck passes any build yet almost as the GTO is and will be my favorite since I had a new 64 (horizontal headlights) 389 four barrel and I wanted the four speed but that was not happening so stuck with a automatic.... today that would be the dream and leave the levers home and let the left leg rest in peace. I sure hope that the headers don't cause you to lose much more hair... dang man your young and doing a comb over/LOL (at your expense) or you would set this old man straight. Love this wiring thing you have opted to do as it is so time consuming a bandit. HalfassKustoms up in your area actually has done a great video on using a stock harness and throwing LS engines in about everything... a good young guy and good all around man if I say so. You Canadians are better and smarter off the get go as you don't see many in your class of experience. I guess get to the point... Cab looks fine with the half and half combo look as the wheels ask for something in return. Gonna be so sweet when done... Your face gives it away how impressed its going

The glue on the cab gutter isn't glue, it is seam sealer. If you don't want water entering the cab from the gutter, you need to replace the seal sealer. Use an epoxy style seam sealer that is UV stabilized. There are 4 "eyebrows", 2 above each door, don't try to fix them or weld them up, they need to stay on the gutter. They are not immediately obvious, you have to go looking for them. If you want to remove bubbles from the mixture for the bushings, you can use a pyrex mixing bowl turned upside down on a piece of MDF with a hole drilled in the wood for a tap, then use a vacuum pump on the tap to create a vacuum bell jar to force out the bubbles in the mixture. You'll have to grease the rim of the mixing bowl to make a seal on the wood, and use a low/wide container for the mixture so it will fit under the mixing bowl. You MIGHT be able to rescale your MAF readings to use the data from one MAF sensor using some of the tuning software available for the Duramax. An example that MAY work, www.duramaxforum.com/threads/rescale-maf-rescale-vane-positions-etc.512353/

those lower control arms look similar if not exact from a chevy express 4500 (arboc mobility bus) with air ride suspension. i've had to replace these before and they are a special order item and were expensive. They also have no "serviceable parts" besides the ball joint (ive always purchased mevotech ttx series) that goes in and comes out as any normal balljoint. Build is coming along great and can't wait to see the final product!!!

The steering box, along with various other components can't be rebuilt as the fire would effectively anneal the hardening or heat treatment to the components. The rack an pinion are hardened very hard, like 60 Rockwell c about. The annealing would make them wear out very quickly.

Hey! You can still run the MAF. Just run it on only the one intake half. Have your tuner double the MAF hz vs airflow calibration table. That way even though it's only seeing half the airflow the computer still gets the correct numbers. Have done that on a couple gm gasser builds using HPtuners when we couldn't delete the MAF. Works pretty good as long as airflow is even between the two throttle body's. Just looks a bit goofy having a maf on only one side but that's easy to hide.
