You and Elle make me so excited for Rosaria Munda's trilogy! 👏 I'm usually a mood reader, and funnily enough, in my mind, I never really had a reading slump ever since becoming a truly avid reader in 2020. The years before I would read around 15-30 books a year, but now I'm reading around 70-80 books, thanks to booktube! When I feel reading gets heavier, I also pick up shorter & lighter reads or reread favourites, and it truly always works. ☺️ Also, I have no problem DNFing books in those times and just coming back to them later on. All in good time, always. 😌

The Fireborne trilogy is on my TBR for this year (Elliot brooks gives it such rave reviews; russian revolution with dragons!plus the cover is so beautiful) I'm so excited to start it!

When I'm in a reading slump, smaller books help me through as well. Sometimes re-reading something I know I will love also helps. Right now I'm tackling Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive. I'm on Oathbringer, which is a very chonky book and because of that I fear I'll only read 3 books this month and my wrap up will be tiny! Good luck with your reading goals!

Half a Soul and Nettle and bone I am very interested in and already added them to my TBR. But I also been going through a horrible and long slump cause of immense stress as well. (I am fine, just lots of changes, but its for the best) but I FINALLY GOT AGE OF MYTH!! I found a hardcover of it for 10$! So I am excited and hope it takes me out of my slump since I am so excited for it!

Have you read sea of tranquility by Emily at John mandel? I’m in a reading slump too and sea of tranquility was short enough and intriguing so I gave it a try and i went through it so fast! It was incredibly compelling and well written.

Hey there Jessie. How are you doing? I actually just got done with listening to Nettle and Bone. The journey was great, but the ending made me go, wait, that's it, what? It does not have a climax at all. I am currently working on the last short story in the book the Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas. I have no idea why I picked it up, but it was just meh for me. The best assassin that I have ever read will always be Rurouni Kenshin from the manga of the same name. I have now listened to 3 books that have made me feel skimpy, so I have been spending some time watching an anime.

Half a Soul sounds like she got a lobotomy 🤪 Is that a UK version of Nettle and Bone? I’ve been really into fantasies at 300 words or less. I find that the stories read fast and have a decent impact without having to dive too deep into the history and lore of the world. Any Margret Roberson book, the Bone Houses, Piranesi, The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. Loved all of them!
