Dominic is either too young or has a short memory. Remember the no-fly zone in Iraq established by Americans and Brits? Who they were to violate the airspace of the sovereign country and set up a no-fly zone there? FYI International law is a precedent one. Russians have not set up a no-fly zone. They just asked nicely not to fly spy planes there but Americans wanted to test what the Russians were going to do about it. I do hope Americans are fully satisfied by the Russian response.

The UN needs to create a new set of rules of war when a nuclear power plant is in a war zone. UN peacekeepers need to control the territory with all power plant workers and inspectors need complete access. Failure do do this is a war crime.

It might be a good idea to listen to what the drone operators have to say about what happened.. It's not as if these drones are fired up and set loose like some toy to fly around until they run out of fuel.. If the operator says it was struck by a plane, then it was struck by a plane.. The guys who sent the plane that struck it has more reason to lie about what happened that the drone operator.. especially when the people dispatching the plane have so much propensity to prevaricate..

@@bluedragontoybash2463 - I doubt this kind of thing happens every day over the Black Sea because whenever there's even a near-miss flyby of NATO, UK, US, or Turkiye aircraft, there's always a big to-do about it in the news. The fact that we had to crash this drone into the water as a result of Russian pilot harrassment or incompetence does make this incident a bigger deal than all the other fly-by and encroachment stories we usually hear about. Also, either the drone was totally self-destructed on its way down, as Austin said it was, or there is now a mad-dash to go pick up the pieces. So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a unique situation and probably a bigger deal than our gov is letting on.

Anyway, they released the Drone video this morning and yeah, the Russian aircraft did strike the prop on the Drone, the impact knocked the camera off line for a second or two but when it came back up one of the prop blades was definitely mangled and the video clearly showed the Russian pilots acting in a dangerously irresponsible manner. There was no ambiguity about it that they were attacking the drone and trying to bring it down in one piece so they could get their hands on it. Two, Ron Desantis is a highly illiberal bad actor that has shown no hesitation to weaponize government bureaucracy to penalize people and organizations that disagree with him, which is in clear violation of the 1st Amendment. I shudder to think what he would do if elected president. Right now, I'm unclear on which is more dangerous for the US as a liberal democratic country, Trump or Desantis. Either of them would be a disaster that would plunge the world into chaos. And I consider myself a conservative, but more in the classic sense than the nutjob isolationists we have growing in numbers now. While Biden has handled the Ukraine war fairly well on the international stage, I feel like he has screwed up domestically. He hasn't addressed the nation and explained to the American people WHY Ukraine stopping Russia is important to global and domestic security interests. Younger people today don't remember the lessons the US learned from WW1 and WW2 where war in Europe will eventually end up on our door step anyway and it's better that we be proactive in limiting conflicts before they spiral out of control, and especially before they end up on our soil. Desantis, despite being a History major, clearly failed to learn the proper implications of isolationism...either that or he's following the base instead of explaining to them why Ukraine is important. How does the saying go? "There go my people. I must follow them. I'm their leader."

I know it's splitting hairs, but purely from a semantics point of view, as I had to look it up myself, it says at 22:30(ish) that Putin 'has used nuclear and chemical' weapons already in Salisbury. Nuclear only applies to an explosion which was not the case, this was a radioactive incident.
