If they EVER revive Phantom, if they don't hire him for the title role, there is no justice in the world. He NAILS this so perfectly and he's amazing. I love anything he does, period. But Phantom is his, no other can do that role.

So glad you reacted to this song by Dan. He is trained to sing classical music as well as other styles. His version of Nessun Dorma is another great example of his range and abilities. Finally Recky likes a Dan Vasc cover.. so happy to see that.. Nessun Dorma is another you might find a Recky level OK...Dan has so many surprises in his little library of Treasures, In my 70's so yes have heard this oh so many times since the Michael Crawford version... fast forward more years than I care to think.. and Dan manages to do both sides of the Phantom perfectly he draws you into his performance ..Thanks Recky, I have missed you, been in hospital having surgery.. you have just aided my recovery 1000 fold

I am delighted that you were surprised by Dan in this video. You are correct about his ability to draw his audience in and feel the song as well as hear it. I loved the delicate high voice part way through, the strong deep voice in the middle and that amazing ending note.

I loved watching your expression as this performance continued! EVERYBODY who sees and hears this (and also Gethsemane, from Jesus Christ Superstar) for the first time says, "Dan belongs on the musical theater stage!" I think Dan could walk out of his studio in Brazil and onto any Phantom stage in the world. Not only is this perfectly sung, but he also conveys the mixture of seductiveness and creepiness in the character. Dan has extensive classical training, as others have said- his real love is power metal, and he set out to become a great singer because of that, but along the way he mastered singing in almost any genre you can think of. Metal technique, like classical technique, requires extensive and specific training, but you need to be able to sing "normal" music (if there is such a thing) before you can sing metal well. Please do check out the Gethsemane scene, another gorgeous and heartrending triumph of singing and acting. For something lighter, more delicate, and deeply emotional, I suggest his cover of Billy Boyd 's lovely ballad The Last Goodbye. Dan is often called The Man of a Thousand Voices, and for good reason. 😊Thanks for your genuinely impressed response!

Dan is not in any theater or Broadway production. He wants to be his own boss. That's why he is on KZbin. Have to give him a lot of credit for wanting to do it his way and work for it. As of today 5-2-24 he has over 996K subs. He is beyond amazing!

When you say Dan Vasc, you’ve said it all. He is actually considered a classically trained METAL singer. I’m a 73 yr old Baptist preacher’s kid and I stumbled over his “Amazing Grace.” I didn’t know it was metal or I probably wouldn’t have listened. How much poorer I would have been.
