The best description of neuropathic pain for TM patients!!! So many good pearls in Maureen's dive into this kind of pain and how it might improve.

The opioid epidemic has only made it harder for pain patients. I have life threatening intractable nerve pain my condition is bad enough as it is but healthcare for us is horrible now we are looked at like addicts, not treated or under treated. Injections and expensive medical devices that fail are the go to which have never helped me while I’m in and out of the ER until I find a good pain doctor. It’s hell on earth it’s only by the grace of God and family I’ve made it this far.

I just finished crying on my kitchen floor because I’m so frustrated with suffering. It’s been 4 straight months so far of consistent pain in my shoulders and back. I’ve tried massage therapy, taichi, yoga, cbd, etc. but I keep deteriorating. I can’t be upright for more than 5 minutes, and I have to lie on the floor dozens of times a day. I have no idea what caused it. It begun after a PNES episode exactly one year after a car accident. I just want to feel okay again. I don’t want to live like this for the rest of my life. I’m so, so frustrated, and I’m absolutely terrified that I’ll never heal. I want help. I want to be okay. I’ve just recently gotten through a very difficult depressive period, only to be met with this. It seems as though the moment I decided to be present in my life, I was hit with this. I don’t know what to do.

Thanks for the information, I had a Large Stroke in Oct 2018, 6 months after the tingling started , I can describe as feeling cold, freezing in fact. Tried max dosage of Gabapentin. That made no difference moved onto Pregabalin, again no change I'm now on max dosage of Nefopam Large dose of Pregabalin, Waiting for appointment with neurologist. In the Midlands UK. During the stroke I lost full use of my left side. Left side peripheral vision. Physically fully recovered although I do have left hand spasms, and the sensation. Was 49 at time of stroke.

Wow! I finally found something discussing what I've been experiencing for fifteen years. I've researched it and never found anything and then it was gone again for months. So, I'd tell myself it's finally gone and wouldn't worry about it. Then, months later, suddenly working out or an extremely hot day and again random large patches of my body tingling, but not numb, on fire.

@@marilynguiroy5217e too. Burns, tingles from feet to top of shin. Tried many a cures and pain management. I’ve resorted to running cold water for 20 seconds from the knee down 8-10 times a day. Then a cool breeze from a fan an open window for 15 seconds or in air conditioning on the wet legs. I probably have it better than some.

hope your good. that must be very difficult, I deal with neuropathic pains in my feet and could only imagine that kind of pain going through my entire body. I deal with other pains in those areas, but I think out of all my pains the neuropathic aspect of the pain i feel in my feet that spreads slightly up my leg, is the worst. hope you can find some sense of well being

No one understands how debilitating pain is. It is destroying my life. My pain is caused from repair to the hip. It goes down the back of my leg thru my knee and then down my leg to my foot. It hurts badly to get up and to sit down . There is no quality to my life.

THC helps a lot with sleep and pain. It’s a great drug with only bad side effect is that it makes you eat more. Unfortunately you have to pay out of pocket for this. Insurance don’t cover.

Understand the audience to whom this was addressed and appreciate the detail. Really wish that someone could convey the same material BUT a little more slowly please. How about short sessions in non-medic jargon -perhaps in English so that listeners could absorb it - CBT is effective if participants understand what they are doing. Well, it is six years old now but none the less worthwhile. Revisit the presentation.
