Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne is a priest of the Archdiocese of Tuam. Ordained in 1992, he has served in various administrative, educational and pastoral capacities and is currently Parish Priest of Athenry Co. Galway. Fr Kilcoyne is Supreme Chaplain of the Knights of Columbanus and a Director of Immaculata Productions. He also presents ‘The Brendan Option’, a weekly online Catholic programme.

As someone born in the early 70's in Ireland, our generation and generations after learned very little about our faith. After embracing the Catechism in a Year, I regret not knowing all of this wonderful information earlier on, especially when we became parents. It's catch up now for us bringing our teens and twenties bit we pray that we'll have set the seed for future generations and keep working on it. I think realising the power of the CCC is powerful, especially where the 10 commandments is broken down. We need the guidelines and guardrails.

Joining the EU focussed the Irish people on self importance and vanity instead of trusting in God. Ireland took their eyes off Jesus, and like Peter they sank not realising they needed Jesus more than ever when they had the temptation of material goods. Poverty/Ignorance of Faith is far more sinister than poverty of material goods. IMHO

Beg the Blessed Mother! She is close, very close, but she was back-burnered for decades. Priests, please consecrate yourselves to her NOW. Do that. Mean it. If you surrender to her, you’ll become an instrument of the Holy Spirit, the font of evangelization.

I think Nugent was wrong calling ye "guys" ..just because he didnt make it as a Priest himself ...he should still respect ye and call ye "Father's "..but its easy to see his ego always in his self admiring picture..its said in the end times,we will be vain & admires of ourselves ..Great show Father's God Bless 🙏🙏🙏

@icmt1390. It is likely poor Nugent got a poor start like so many since the second Vatican Council. Maybe we could cut him some slack. He does his best, and we can only hope there will be more like him willing to step up to the plate and try to restore the Faith of our Fathers. Peace.

Please God Priests like Fr Luke and Fr Brendon having put their hand to the plough will not give up, and never look back. Jesus is depending on willing workers in His vineyard. The more labourers the better. The harvest will come you can bet your bottom dollar on that.

Dear Fathers, l think that it might be time to return to the Traditional Latin Mass. I think receiving standing up does not say ' this is God'. To be honest I failed at passing on the faith to my children and we had the daily rosary in the home so maybe l am the last guy to be giving advice. God bless ye. From Limerick ☘️.

I’m about two thirds way in… over here in Michigan we have five year olds sitting daily for the Mass respectfully in our Sisters-run Dominican school. I am so not understanding why you Fathers are acting like these Irish kids are so incapable of attending Mass. if you say a Mass with love and reverence, maybe they would see how holy and at peace you are and maybe they’d be touched by the grace of the sacraments. I’m confused about why these Fathers are sounding like they need to dumb down the faith! We don’t do it here in Michigan! Daily Mass and rosaries and Adoration every First Friday and sometimes during Confessions. I pray I am misunderstanding y’all but this isn’t sounding right to me.

These are missionary priests. They aren't dealing with kids who have been brought up in the faith. They are dealing with kids from one parent families. They are dealing with kids who smoke and drink and do drugs all of which has become normal in the poorer parts of Ireland. You can't hit these kids immediately with the mass they will bolt for the hills. First step is to evangelise them and this is what they are talking about doing. The mass will come latter for these kids when they are ready to accept it.
