I’ve seen so many people from the UK confused about the jelly/jam thing. The difference between jam and jelly in the US (at least, to my understanding as a Southerner) is that jam is made from fruit pieces, so it’s opaque and has seeds, and jelly is made from juice, so it’s clear with no seeds. For instance, I would never say raspberry jelly or grape jam. A few are interchangeable, like blueberry, but that’s the general gist of it.

3:18 Oml, I just remembered a moment from primary school! One of the dinner ladies was trying to convince a girl at my table to eat her crusts, 'because crusts make your hair grow curly'. Now, I was sitting just across from them, happily munching through my own sandwich, crusts and all, with an absolute mop of curls. (Love being used as an example) This was back when dead straight hair was The Look, and my locks could've easily rivalled an 80s perm, so... Yeah. Anyway, that girl took one look at me, and probably decided never to eat crusts again. In the moment, I was too busy snaffling my cucumber on wholewheat to care about my 'ugly' (see also: untrendy) hair, but now I see just how unintentionally mean kids can be to each other 😅☹ Anyway, flashback over! A wonderful vlog as always, Grace 💙 Yours are the only uploads I check for nowadays, bc this kind of content is 👏 absolutely 👏 unbeatable 👏

As a Canadian that lived in the US for a time and has been to the UK: Jelly: Jam without the seeds or little bits. Usually pectin, sugar with made with fruits and strained or fruit juice. Jam: made with fruits, pectin and sugar. Jello: made with juice, food colouring, flavourings, and gelatine (for the most part). Jello also melts to liquid when it is warm, while jelly/Jam stay stable. I hope this helps with your food discoveries!!!

I hear you mention the phrase/sentence 'out of my comfort zone'. Years ago when I heard this being spoken by some pastors at the Kingdom Faith Conference Week (I was a christian and now I am not proud to have been one for this and many other reasons, partly due to having Autism and I also have Cerebral Palsy and Severe Sensory Hearing Impairment), The pastors would also say that God wants to stretch you. I thought that this meant that Father God wanted to take away my hobbies/interests away from me and completely change who I am and be completely different to who I am. Also the pastors would want us to form small groups and pray for each other to ascertain what is God's call/plan/will for our lives and I did not know if it was COMPULSORY and if it was an ORDER. However in a previous video when I watched you trying on different clothes, you mentioned this phrase and I thought that being out of your comfort zone in the clothes/fashion sense would mean, for example, wearing shorts that are too short that show your bottom or clothes that showed off too much flesh/skin. I did not realise what you meant was it was you were wearing clothes that you would not normally, usually try on and wear. However thank you for explaining to me what it actually really means. Best wishes and take care. Kind regards, Peter Skuce. St Albans. Hertfordshire.

Ok just strawberry and chocolate flavours (not all the other ones like cinnamon or s’mores - they are imported). Also Tim Hortons sells everything bagels and they are amazing. I tried to make a diy seasoning before but it didn’t taste the same at all.

For the jam/jelly thing in North America (I live in Canada, and it's the same here) is that jam is the whole fruit including seeds and skins , sometimes fruit bits, and jelly is more transparent and has been "filtered" so it;s completely smooth with no seeds or fruit bits. I hope that helps!

There is a difference between jelly and jam in the states. In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice. Jelly has the smoothest consistency and is usually clear. In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit. This makes jam less stiff than jelly. In preserves, the fruit comes in the form of chunks in a gel or syrup. Preserves will have more fruit in them than jam will. Marmalade is a type of preserve with citrus fruits in it.
@sukisue4 жыл бұрын
Not American but Canadian and maybe I can help out a bit here - Jam and jelly are different! Jelly is just more popular in the US. It’s not so common at all in Canada but it does exist. Jam - still has chunks of fruit and sometimes seeds in it. Berries or whatever are mashed and reduced a bit with sugar and pectin. Jelly - berries are boiled down and the juice is strained, discarding the pulp. Much more sugar is added and a setting aren’t (pectin? Idk) and it’s wobbly but spreadable. Next video: making jelly and jam?

Hey Grace! I'm in South Africa and always questioned why it was called jelly instead of jam. Our friend Google has broken it down in 1) jam has the fruit bits in it and seeds. Talking about jelly vs jam vs jello, in the US jelly is sued to refer to that sort of spread when it’s made from strained juice, so is smooth, and jam is for when it’s cooked from the entire fruit so there’s little chunks in it. Jello I guess is just bc we have a thing for brand names and already used jelly to talk about something

Dough hook does different things to a spatula. You would probably have to kneed for an hour. Also lucky charms are dehydrated marshmallows.Don't know how low your oven goes but not likely low enough. Those are not pop tarts, they are just going to be like a danish or something. You want poptarts, you need to make Claire's from Gourmet Makes. You can't put more filling in. Yes it cooks down more during the bake, but if you put in more, it would just explode out.

In America, the difference between jam and jelly is that jelly is made from the juice of the fruit and jam uses the whole fruit, cut into pieces or crushed. What the British refer to as jelly, Americans call Jell-O because that’s the popular brand name for a line of flavored gelatin. Like Brits say they are going to Hoover the rug instead of vacuum the rug.
