I love this video! I have a bachelor's and masters in management and wanted to get into recruiting, but I also saw that most opportunities required at least a year of experience. Luckily, a company finally gave me a shot and just hired me this week! I am super excited! Hoping to one day hit the tech recruiting side of things if the opportunity presents itself.

Hey Preston, great video 👏 I really like how organized you are. One quick question. Are your US clients taking into consideration working with software devs from the European timezone? I am from Romania btw, I am working for a big US company, fully remote, and everything is great. I am asking because I see a lot of good talent here. And if the client, project, and industry are on point, they will love to work for 100k-200k gross.

glad to hear you and yours came thru the pandamic allright. the loss of your beloved kitty was sad news to hear though. good video, Preston and congrats on your successes! may i ask, what support staff do you work with and when billing, do you bill only on the salary? finally, not having listened to most of your videos, would be interested to hear your thoughts in a video on how you do your staffing agency work as well. all the best and thanks for your spirit of generosity!. john

@RecruiterPreston2 жыл бұрын
It’s great if you’re a high performer but most would consider a salary and/or a draw
@hightechcarpentry3 жыл бұрын
I would be interested in learning more about how you preset the candidates to the clients. Are you keeping your cards close and sending the resumes without names and info, or do you just fire off the real deal and rely on the contract to ensure no shenanigans are in play, like a client trying to hire from under you?
@RecruiterPreston3 жыл бұрын
Really depends on the situation but after doing recruiting for as long as I have, honestly I want to do my best and not play any 'games' or work with people that resort to shady tactics or play games. Recruiting gets a bad enough rep from many others who do this. Honest and authentic recruiting is all about building a strong and sustainable business well into the future and not focused on 'games' to get the quick buck! If a client tries to play any games or tactics, we can choose not to engage with them moving forward.

Question here: What do you mean that you made $100k working at your first recruiting job but none of that went into your pocket? 03:48. Why was that so? I hope to hear from you. Thanks for the helpful video :)
@RecruiterPreston3 жыл бұрын
That was because I did that while I was working for a large staffing agency and my compensation was still set up at that time to enjoy or receive any commissions! :( Thanks for watching!

@@RecruiterPreston haha I feel you. I've done £130k since 12 Apr 2021, recently had £50k in drop outs which would have been my biggest month. Agencies really do take a large chunk. But honestly I've loved every moment of my first year working in rec and at this early I feel you learn so much more for a reputable rec agency.
