Little funny thing I learned about Star Fragment weapons; like most, I roll my eyes at how useless they are since they are just little light balls that do no damage. But. I per chance wanted to mock one of those "Floor Master"-looking, Phantom-spawning, loser-hand-monsters by casting light balls at it. What harm would it do, right? Well... It turned the 'Floor Master' into a dark clump item, and did not spawn the Phantom. I still don't know if that was intended behavior, but that's literally what happened. 😕

5:43 the Depths King Gleeock was the first one I killed because I wanted the hat it was guarding. I’m of the opinion that King Gleeocks are the easiest kind since you don’t have to put on temperature-resistant gear or the Lightning Helm, so you can put on the full Barbarian set and go to town.

My strategy for Gleeok fighting was "Eyes for days? Eyes for days." AKA Rapid firing arrows with Aerocuda and Keese Eyes (sometimes elementally typed) at the heads until the Gleeok fell down, then bash it as much as I can in a couple seconds before running out of shockwave range and prepping more eye-arrows. I honestly never had to deal with the second phase after my first Gleeok.

28:54 I've gotten so good at killing lynels that I go back to that colosseum every time there's a blood moon for easy top-tier weapon attachments (My last run was on a fresh replay save and I took no damage) lol One trick I use is that when you stun a lynel and mount it, attacking won't use your weapon durability. Another is that landing a parry stuns them just long enough that you can line up a shot with your bow without needing bullet-time so you can get that stun. Also I think that a Dark Link would not be too hard to justify. The way I'd go about it is after you do the Hyrule castle mission, replace any Phantom Ganon spawns in the depths with Dark Link (You still have to kill gloom hands) but that's less a DLC idea and more of a what-if the base game did that.

Gleeocks are difficult relative to _where you fight them._ If there's lots fo cover and vantage points, you can just bullet time them into a pinchusion. If it's out in the open, like the gleeock on the bridge of Hylia, you have to rely on either Zonai devices to gain altitude, or keese eyeballs for homing. The hardest way to challenge a gleeock is to try and beat them in a straight up firefight. The thunder gleeock in the surface colosseum is a joke because you can just use ascend to dodge all his attacks and counter with bullet time.

Floating Coliseum: I was out of everything and at one heart when that last lynel appeared. I decided to cut my losses, warp out, and take all the lynel parts and crystallized charges I had won and do the whole fight later. Turns out, it keeps your progress - probably so you can't farm lynel parts and crystallized charges. I came back ridiculously overprepared for one lynel fight - kind of nerfs the whole challenge, tbh.

(Edit: Higher islands yuuuuh!!!!! How bout whole sky continents, i want a whole main story line up there) See id like the next zelda to meet somewhere in the middle of the 2 styles of zelda you outlined. The shrines and dungeons were way better executed here in my opinion than Breath, but i still really dont like their premise (mainly shrines, dungeons I'd just like to see more variation in objective). So I'd be super down for a bit scaled back on the size of the world then more and varied full dungeons waiting to be found. The problem i think is i get about halfwayish in these newer games and then almost nothing is surprising. At most whats waiting at cool places is a shrine, an armor piece, and weapons you no longer need (yeah Tears did better about it but the sky islands really bummed me out after realising the extent of them)

Also, the lack of ancient stuff snd divine beasts was likely intentional, and Robbie and Purah probably led a drive to dismantle EVERYTHING, because 100 years of terror means everyone was 110% DONE with that…

I know Red won't see this, but I do feel it worth noting that completing some objectives is exactly what should be done before the main, 8 hour bonanza. Having an actual armor set doesn't mean you can't find others. Doing a couple shrines (bare minimum of unlocking them as travel points) is certainly something that should be done. This game is between 150-200 hours long. If you get yourselves off to a decent start you will still have PLENTY to do on-stream. In fact, it would actually open up many more things for you to do on-stream. You could teleport directly to the shrines you have unlocked (and not completed) and do a "Shrine-Run". You would have decent armor that would allow you to challenge more difficult enemies for donation goals. Don't be afraid to get a little power in your hands before the main event. There will still be much to do. More importantly, we'll all be here supporting you all and the charity either way!

Warning: Long comment incoming! (No spoilers beyond what happened in the last stream) I think Tears of the Kingdom corrected quite nicely for a lot of the very valid criticism that Breath of the Wild got. Especially the fact that in BotW, you aren't an active participant in the story and the motivation to save Zelda was minimal at best. In Tears of the Kingdom, people do not shut up about how awesome she is and how hard everyone is working on finding her and I love it. Everyone is invested and everything you do is actively working towards the goal. I also firmly believe that Nintendo 100% regrets caving to the fan's demand for a timeline. They have always operated on very fast and loose rules about continuity but because the fans have been begging for a timeline so much, they caved and backed themselves into a corner. They seem to have entered an era of "Fuck it. Pretend it's the first time every time. Continuity and lore matters if it fits the vibe and if not, we act like nothing is established and we can do whatever we want" and I am wholeheartedly in favour of it. I criticized Breath of the Wild a lot for throwing every established lore out the window except for Skyward Sword. I felt it was unfair that apparently nothing matters, nothing is sacred but Skyward Sword was put on the pedestal like it was the stone tablets with the 10 comandments. They established a timeline (that they didn't have to) and their solution was "everything is true but everything is myth and nothing really matters, except for Skyward Sword because that shit is the most important bit of lore we ever created, we can't drop that" and that was awkward to say it politely. I can respect that in Tears of the Kingdom they did their best to throw a lot of new stuff against the wall that directly contradicts Skyward Sword, without throwing out things they established in BotW. These two are directly connected and should be coherent with each other and Tears of the Kingdom did an elegant job at damage control if that makes sense?
