Big ups to Jim, you can see why they get BK to test these things not just because he can but because he knows what to change so everyone else can ride. Can only hope Hardline Wales goes ahead this year. That trail surface is terrifying. The track itself (even without the gaps/features) would equal or exceed WC difficulty even if it was smooth dirt with some roots. But its all rough jagged rock WHILE being insanely technical. Anyone who can complete a full lap top-bottom in a single pull is already legend status. The winner who can do it at speed is god-tier.

@@digbysirchickentf2315it looked pretty greasy, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the bike slipped on the lip causing him to come out at a weird angle. Thankfully he bailed, meaning the bike couldn’t injure him further by landing on him.

@@digbysirchickentf2315 The radius on that jump is way too quick. For how much speed you take into that jump, there’s not enough flat space. It would also help to have about 5-6 ft at the end of the take of that didn’t curve for the riders to help set up. I build jumps with snow, not dirt, so there may be a lot more into bike park building that I don’t see myself. But there’s a few things that just seem off about this jump.

On a serious note, redbull amping things up like this, someone's going to literally die soon. Its becoming way more gnarly then it even needs to be. Is it going to take a death or serious paralysis of a rider to realise things don't have to be that wild! I know the riders know the risks as do all who ride. The gap reminds me of loads of motorcycle stunts from the 70’s and 80’s where the man made landing ramps where the end of the road for some of them daredevils. That run up really needs a barrier either side in case someone slides off the edge, the fact it will make it harder to capture footage should be irrelevant. I’m pleased there’s going to be a safety net as that jump was ready to take someone’s life. Whoever is providing H&S guidance to red bull needs to revaluate what an acceptable level of risk is.
