@@prashantgurung2635 I didn't say people weren't patriotic. The marketing and PR behind a movie works rigorously to promote it at all possible platforms. Back then in 2000s films were just watched on theatres or CDs...and there were very minimal promotions for example in print media unlike these days...the patriotic films now a days are promoted with an emotional sentiment and theme...that wasn't done back then...neither with swades nor with other movies like lagaan gadar. Those times were times of drama movies be it a patriotic or romantic one. Swades was less on drama but was true to the story...so was not that big hit. However, it's one of the best movies made on patriotism and one of the best performances of SRK.

Those time film promotion used to be on ground more visiting different cities every place film posters and banners. Only source of entertainment was theatres so people enjoyed films

@@missingcasey my favourite performance of srk is of course Dil Se and my fav movie too, but yeh some more favourites are devdas, Chak de india,veer zaara, mohabbatein, my name is khan but Dil Se is above and beyond these, and by saying the limits of acting, i want to convey that, he has started career with negetive role, then became a huge romantic star and then movies like swades and devdas which were so intense, patriotic performance in swades and chak de, comedy in bazigar, chennai express, and then the swag style in Don francise, and he was never forced to do what he did, as he played all the roles so perfectly, in regard of acting see a dil se scene on youtube when he is with manisha, in a desert at night. thank you.

@@missingcasey i had never said that no actor is better than him, but yeh he had touched some limits which fully makes you feel what cinema, he has one of the most intense eyes which probably some actors have in today, if you revisit swades look for his face when he speaks "main bas itna jaanta hoon ki ek julaha jo apne bachon ko sikhsa nhi de skta, khana nhi de skta, bas mrta dekh skta hai, those eyes were so intense at that time and there were many scenes in the movie like that, when he reated to harilal's condition again with tears or at the train scene, also some similiar scenes in chak de. hope you have got the point which i wanted to convey. And yes, I am a big big fan of srk and hence i love all of his performance.

This is a great movie I've ever seen, because it's talk about a lot of problems/issues that exist in our society till today and it is more on rural areas . few of them issues like Child marriage, poverty, low enrollment in education etc. All we have to work on it and co-operate one another. what about this clip "How a girl choose her passion over marriage " that should be the takeaway from it. But the saddest thing is feminism is going in the wrong direction across India. Many feminists started thinking "Do I really need a husband?", "Why should I listen to my husband, I'm not his servant". "Why should I respect and take care of inlaws?", "Why can't I cheat after marriage, my life my body", "Let's file fake cases like 498a to control inlaws" etc. Many women excel in all fields giving equal importance to work and family. They don't ignore their family or disrespect husbands, inlaws, or relations just because they are earning. I hope common women understand that.
