Hey guys, we mention this later in the video but the dealer asked us to not disclose what Rob paid for the car. We will tell you that it was no where near the $47,500 they were originally asking. Feel free to take guesses below though! Let's just say it was a very fair price on both ends and we feel very privileged to be able to acquire one :)

It looked like he was really insecure and self-conscious about his masculinity being at stake. So instead of getting out and trying to figure it out he left it up to his friends to call the shots so that he could throw the blame onto them if he messed up. I don't understand why he'd want to throw it on a trailer in the first place. A 6 hour road trip seems like the perfect thing to do with your brand new car

It's fair enough if it was his first time, my main problem is the fact that he didn't want to put any effort in it. Rather than try to be proactive about things and give it a fair crack, he just resorted to delegating things to his friends, and acting catty. He never attempted to put any thought in for himself. He literally wouldn't even get out of the car to assess the situation

I'll give a few lil tips for getting up ramps without scraping the bumper. use 1-1.5 inch thickness pieces of wood to prop up the front of the car before you hit the ramps. use at least 1 foot long pieces. I use this technique also for car stand ramps when working on my car. Another trick you can do is put car stand ramps in front of the rear wheels of the pickup truck, drive forward and it'll raise the rear or the pickup truck which will raise the angle of the trailer but it'll flatten out the angle of the trailer ramps :) I've done that trick when putting my brothers much lower 180sx on a car trailer.

@Danny Obando did you ever buy a car in your life? By you logic every car would have to be towed home from any dealer. At the time you also call your ins. company to let them know about your new car purchase.

Black is the best colour. It's the one I went for. It blends all the black trim seamlessly. If you have to do this again. Two options. First always carry two planks that you can place at the start of the ramp just to give it a two step angle. If you don't want to do that, or forget the wood, deflate the trailer tyres. It should lower it a little.

It was 198, I was vice president of an entertainment PR firm in Hollyweird, and the boss was embarassed for clients to see me driving an uncool 1978 Pontiac Ventura hatchback. He urged me to lease a new car of my choice and he'd reimburse me for the lease payments up to $250.00/month. Given that budget, I decided a Red 1985 Honda Prelude Si was the car for me. I got the car for a little less than invoice, but Honda's "halo car" (then as now) was on strict allocation and I had to wait FOUR MONTHS for delivery. The boss thought I was nuts, passing up what amounted to a RAISE for that long. I told him that if he wanted me to drive a nicer, new car for $250/month, that Prelude Si was IT. At the end of the lease term, I was able to score a 1989 Prelude Si for the same monthly payment. That car was even nicer. Wish I could have afforded to keep it. Sigh! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoTSZ413gbyUb8k

They told to beat the piss out of it for 200mi then change the oil, and then beat the piss out of it some more. Zero break in time is required for those brilliant Honda motors. Aggressive driving is said to help seat the rings. PS. That motor continued to use oil the first 7,000mi, and then it quit using oil. I sold it at 60k.

Wow, watching you guys put that on a trailer was the most cringe inducing thing i have watched in a while. So i am going to help you guys out. If you ever have to move a low car with one of these U-Haul car haulers, here is a top tip that will help you the next time you do. First and foremost. Put some wheel chocks fore and aft of the trailer axles. Safety first. Now, go up to the front tongue. See the trailer jack? Extend it. Keep extending it until it lifts the front of the trailer past parallel. You may also lift the back of your tow vehicle slightly, dont be too alarmed by that. Keep going until you can see a definite downward slope on the trailer deck. By lifting the front of the trailer, you simultaneously lower the back end. This levels out the approach angle of the ramps, and also means you dont have a severe hump to go over when you reach the trailer deck, which you can sometimes highcenter on. This technique is a MUST with these U-Haul trailers, and why more U-Haul places dont tell you about that, is beyond me. The jack is actually designed to do that. That is why it has the rounded foot, and the lever action lifting arm. But it is a feature that is overlooked 99.9% of the time. The more you tow, the more you know. Now you know better for next time.
@romahnae7 жыл бұрын

Road trips to pick up a new car are some of the best kind of memories you can make! Having it delivered to your house is boring.

Why didn't you guys buy a 20 dollar car cover from autozone to cover the type r?
@userduo7 жыл бұрын
danjcastrillo because if you put a car cover on and drive on the freeway..... think about it
@danjcastrillo7 жыл бұрын
Ted Dibiase if the car cover is clean I don't see how it would scratch the paint. As long as you get a cloth one. But I would like to know how it would be bad if you would like to explain, I would appreciate it.
@userduo7 жыл бұрын
danjcastrillo no matter how tight you put on the cover, at highway speeds it will create a wind tunnel and either fly off or scratch the paint from all the flapping. Furthermore, road debris, rocks will get under the cover and also scratch the surface. Painters tape is the best way to go.
@danjcastrillo7 жыл бұрын
Ted Dibiase oh. Thanks for the advice. I wouldn't have thought that.

If you had some boards or 4x4 wood pieces , Place them in front of the rear axle of the truck , drive up and create a lower loading angle on the ramp. Done. However i understand your frustration , i went through the same when i bought my 2000 ITR

Black is the best color for this car. Not only does it look stealthy, but it hides all of the fake vents and scoops (especially from far away).
@telemetryz6 жыл бұрын
OMG... bunch of rookies here. wtf? you need to put wood down to get the front end up before on ramps. Holy moly.

Your friends helping load the ramp don't seem like the smartest people in the entire wide world.
@FalenAnjel27 жыл бұрын
Well as you guys mentioned you've never towed anything before so I'm guessing you didn't think a low ride Civic R might require extra ramps. Could have spent 30 bucks at the lumber yard and grabbed thick 2 or 4x 8s to help give a more gradual slope up.

Love your reviews. This video was awesome cause it was different than what we see normally and it was real. To everyone saying "omg he's gay" well they're are gay people in the world. Sorry but I understand that you might just found out gay guys can know about cars or gay people exist 🤣😂😂😂. Thanks cause I'm gay and know more about cars than some straight guys. Will never understand why people focus on sexuality above what's going on with a video.

Jaxx Vega We're glad you enjoyed it! We will definitely try and do more of these since most of you really like it. Also, the stereotype is very real, cars are a very masculine subject. It's a very male focused industry, but the funny thing is, we've met A LOT of colleagues who are also gay men. In fact, most of the articles you've read from the big boys was most likely written by an editor who is a gay man ;)

@BoogieDownProduction7 жыл бұрын
For me I personally dont care that they are gay. But all the constant whining in that voice was hard to ignore, it was distracting and annoying. Male, female, straight, gay, whatever it really doesnt matter its annoying when anyone does it.

You'll rather buy the infiniti but the simple fact is you can't afford either so shut your mouth
@ffampire7 жыл бұрын
Luis Garcia I can think of many cars I would rather have than the Type R for 47k or even 40k, but it is cool to have the exclusivity factor. I just wish that would have made the type R in the coupe or sedan style instead. Imo, either would have been more aesthetically pleasing.

I read a lot of comments about driving the car home... NO WAY. He was right to get it home on a trailer. You should never break an engine in at a fixed rpm range. An engine needs to rev up and down constantly to make sure stress is put evenly throughout. The second point of breaking an engine in is to ask for torque gently, by pressing on the gas gradually. Thirdly, you need to reach higher revs every 500-1000 kms. Actually, everything is explained in the user's manual but I just wanted to rectify the "beliefs" we might encounter :)
