Blade and Brad are clearly pushing Joshua into some high heights. I would LOVE to hear this group more regularly. I also would LOVE to hear this classic quartet here in Hawaii! To me, Joshua’s first 5 album were like the first 5 books in the Bible

How Blade embraces Brad's right hand in his solo! This man really serves music.

Great Music. Though, I apologize...I'm not able to appreciate Redman's sound. I never did, I'm very sorry. But I keep tryin'...My friend Dave Liebman would say that he's a tenor saxophone player playing soprano. He says the same about Branford...

Carlo Morena haha I’ve felt the same about his sound. I get you. Hope people don’t fight us about it. I still appreciate him a lot though

Couldn't agree more, although not so much for Branford. With all of his romantic classical saxophone discography he's put in the time to develop control and tone to by ears, (alsothinking about The Byoofiful Ones are not yet Born and his little 20 minute reprise of A Love Supreme as examples.) But as far as JR goes, I generally or him in the Oliver Nelson camp as a good writer and player who surrounds himself with geniuses in order to make great records.

wish they'd memorized the tune , "internalized" it, then let-her-rip on it - but, i'll take it anyways and disregard wtf i'm saying...lol

the first read through of a tune and the internalized versions of it each have their own moods. sometimes i like to hear a musician grasp more aspects of the song while playing it...

Sorry, but JR sounds a bit like a nervous college student in his head recital to me. Rips at the end of his solo but tone and intonation are troublesome to me.
