I would go to America, just to learn from this guy how the job should be done. This man is the real deal.

Some trick falling for tricky situation. Interesting that both of those saws seem to be intended more for the Euro style of cutting yet the Husky still has some bottom end. Curious if Stihl has something up their sleeve for a N.A. version of the 462.

Good job😁I had another unrelated question have you ever noticed as you know sometimes it's almost impossible not to tip you chain slightly in dirt when bucking? But my question is wondered if you ever noticed if the ground is frozen it seems not to dull your chain as quickly.

Mechanically soundness do you have preference on the 372, 572 461,462. And performance wise do you have preferance.

Super-fulus work as always Mr. Jack, not often you dig deep enough into the bag of trick-er-ation to wipe the dust off the ol axe gun........that was neat to see, it's been a LONG time since I seen anybody use that, but adapt and overcome and back up the back up plan or learn how to test drive that expensive insurance...........safe cuttin out there pard

Good insights on the low end power. What's your preference, 572 or 462? Uave you seen any filtration issues with the 462?
@hotsaws1016 жыл бұрын
Marshy hi. It depends on the application. I consider balance as well. The 462 is really light. It is a little nose heavy with a 32. I like it with the 30" Oregon lw bar much better in that aspect. I seems to be better suited to the powerband considering the engine design with the 30" bar as well. In a steep & brushy, or just excessive brush, the 462 will work very well. The 572 will hunker down more so and pull a longer bar a little better. It weighs more so then the balance is better with the 33" - 110 driver 3/8s or 36" bars. The 1/4 twist locking mechanism on the air filter element to the carb box cover is an accident looking for a place to happen. With only around 400/500k on the 462 the interface between the plastic "nut" molded in the filter and the plastic "bolt" molded in the flange sees the locking actuation it is noticeably less positive than when it was first "out da box". It's not passing particulates just yet. I do expect it would not be long if getting into some fine dust though. It's nothing different than the same problem on the 661s. The 064 came out in '84 with a screw on nut. It was an improvement from the previous design. It stood the test of time - for around 30 years. Why did we change again...…. Thanks for watching.

Have you considered doing a narration over the top of your footage, I would be really interested to hear your thought process.

Omar hi. That was me giving Johnny the "hurry it up will you" speed on the drum rotation reeling in the pull line to ensure the tree not veering off course to far. Thanks for watching.

Hi Jack would you mind doing a video on your chain sharpening? Also do you grind or hand file? I'm assuming you run square ground most of the time. Thanks
@craigprice4256 жыл бұрын
that would be awesome!
@hotsaws1016 жыл бұрын
Jim hi. It has a little to do with my method - that part is slight. The crux would be the angles the teeth have been adjusted to from the filing or grinding process. I cannot see that great anymore, so grinding is the norm. I do, on occasion hit the teeth with a file though. As a bushler, it was faster "out in the wood" to throw another loop on and go. A properly hand filed chain is about impossible to beat. But they take a lot of time to get there. Thanks for watching.
@steppoffaith84266 жыл бұрын
I guess he dosent use square ground. If he hand files in the woods on occasions.

I hear that the 572 has the same off idle hesitation as the other Auto-Tune saws and that just bugs the hell out of me....

Excellent work. With full comp 3/8 that 572 pulls very good. Sounds great too. I would have been chicken to pull that one. Would have clum it and took it down from the tippy top. Nice to hear about the increased low end grunt. Are the wrap handle bar from a 441R ?
@hotsaws1016 жыл бұрын
gumboot65 hi. This kind of operation is always a calculated risk. When free falling, I've seen trees twice this size veer off 30 feet because of one limb holding on. No. They are from a 660 and 562, with a piece my son fabbed up from aluma tube on the under side. In the video from earlier when the 572 was still stock, I showed and talked a little bit about the handle bar fabrication. Thanks for watching.

I could use a set-up like that ! Lol .... The dead ash (EAB) we are felling that are leaning forward (esp with a heavy crown that way ) like to barber - chair ... We’ve been cinching chain around them about a foot or so above the felling cut which seems to negate that aspect ... wood be nice to have that “pull” working in our favor 😆 ... Looks like a shower of debris came down after the tree was pulled down ! Make sure you keep ur brain-bucket on boys and girls !!!
