@charleyMD179 ай бұрын
@@FredtheFrisianI'm not saying Bran is a bad idea for King. He is the best choice since he's the Three Eyed Raven. I'm poking fun at the dialogue. I don't think anyone feels like Bran has the best story. Every other character had a better story/storyline than him. If Tyrion had said "You can't lie to this dude, he knows everything, he seems the past, the present and the future, he should be King" then we all would've nodded in agreement. But like "Who has a better story?". Everyone. I believe that GRRM told them Bran was going to be King in his novels should he ever finish them and that works for the books because Bran is a much bigger character in them than the show made him. The opening chapter of the first book begins with Bran, if I'm not mistaken. So Bran becoming King makes sense for book readers, maybe not so exciting a choice for the show watchers tho.

The reason the end makes ME mad...the ENTIRE book/show was based on "Who is Jon Snow's mother?" and then in the end it DIDN'T F♤CKIN MATTER 😤 Bran saying "I can't be Lord of Winterfell, I can't be Lord of anything" and then he's made king 🤦♀️ so dumb. Cersei's death was pitiful & annoying. After everything SHE did?? Most unsatisfying death ever! Sansa only cared about becoming Queen of the north and Daenerys only cared about the Iron Throne. I thought her throne at DragonStone was WAY better but 🤷♀️
@NandR9 ай бұрын
It did matter who his mother was. It mattered to Dany. And it didn’t matter. Which is the whole point. He was no longer a bastard. But his mother does not make him a king. His ability to fight and gather mean to fight doesn’t make him king. Robert was a fighter and a bad king.
@BeboRulz9 ай бұрын

@@nikkiplatt316 People just don't get it. He didn't sit around doing nothing. He put all the pieces into play in the second of the story. He is where he is because he knew how to get there. He knew telling Jon about his ancestry would drive a wedge between him and Dany. Once he had all the pieces in place at winterfell he lured the night king in, knowing that Arya would strike the final blow with the same dagger meant to kill him. The sad part is he knew that Dany would kill everyone and said nothing. The problem with Kings and advisors, kings don't listen. Well, Asia and BJ, I said the exact same thing, "I can't accept it," and I never have. The way they 'D&D' left the book and decided to 'go their own way' with this series angered me more than any show I've ever watched. To me, this was the greatest series ever created. The choice to give us 6 seasons of brilliant foreshadowing, and then just discard it was the biggest waste and wrong ever perpetrated on a book, and a series. And yeah, I'm still angry. Everything we learned, everything we were told, everything cleverly foreshadowed, was abandoned. This is what I meant about Tyrion's quote about everything turning to ash in your mouth being more about the viewers, than the characters. We spent years watching and waiting only to have the last two seasons rushed so D&D could go to another project. They couldn't wait for George R.R. Martin, they had to get it 'out of the way'. Google "‘Game of Thrones’ creators confirm that they had no clue what they were doing." There are many articles about how D&D ruined GOT, and they did. Utterly, and completely. When Aria killed the night king instead of John, they said they did it that way 'because it's be cool.' What happened to honoring the story, following the book, all the foreshadowing we watched for 5 1/2 years? Still a great series to a point, but it could have been so so much more satisfying to see it end as it should have. George R.R. Martin probably shouldn't have agreed to do the series until the books were done, and he had time and didn't do it. In the end, I would have rather waited for season 6, 7, and 8, rather than see it rushed and ruined. So, it's now the greatest and worst series of all time, at the same time.

And then they happened exactly as described and we were shocked, horrified and disgusted in real time. The worst part is after "The Bells" we already knew how silly the finale would be. We we all sat there aggravated. It was a huge public roasting of the creators which resulted in them losing the Star Wars project they were supposed to do. It was thought that they stopped caring about GoT because they were concerned with that instead. Whoops.

I believed the rumours, no matter how stupid they sounded. I had watched the show get worse with each season after 4 ended, the writers slowly working in plot armour, tired old tropes and deus ex machina, massive plot holes, bizarre decisions, characters inexplicably getting dumber and making mistakes they never would've made because the writers were too incompetent to think of any other way to get them killed, teleporting around the world in one episode when the same journey in season 2 took an entire month, and so on and so forth. The most common interpretation of Drogon burning the throne is that the dragon somehow (and in the books, it's implied that they have a certain degree of intelligence beyond what humans give them credit for, so it's not unthinkable)understood that the Iron Throne was the true cause of Dany's death; the want of it drove her mad, as it did every single person who ever coveted it or sat on it in any way. The Iron Throne was like the One Ring--as long as it existed, no peace would ever come. It was born out of fire and blood, and thus was incapable of begetting anything else, so in order for Westeros to move into a more peaceful age, the Throne had to go.

The show was actually cut short by like a whole season because the writing crew was hired by Disney to write the last Star Wars movie. The whole last season was rushed because they had to wrap up many storylines in a shortened amount of episodes. The ending left many fans frustrated even many of the cast. There is no possible rationale for not having Jon end up King...and then being sent back to the wall???? The wall was destroyed by the night king and was only ever in place to protect against the White Walkers (who are dead) and the Wildlings (who are now allies). Made no sense. Anyways....great series....with a frustrating ending. I enjoyed watching you watch it.

I've always thought John should have won the throne. Not really sure how. The one thing I think would have made it better is to reverse the battles in the last season. Deal with Cersei first then the Night King. Still, I've got it ranked 2nd all time on my list.

This isn't the real ending George R. R. Martin still has 2 books to write this is why the final 2 seasons were weaker than the others because they caught up to the books and then hbo had to make up their own storylines

42:07 Give the novels a read, and you'll be hearing the actors as you read 👍👍👍👍 I watched the series before reading the novels, so the last seasons didn't bother me, where I think people's beef was when the series started diverging from the novels, and then concluded the story, which George R. R. Martin still hasn't (and I don't believe ever will) written. On the other hand, I do feel that the series trimmed away characters and side-stories which really served no purpose at all, other than to pad the pages of the novels, and IMHuO, the series streamlined an overly-bloated story, into a very concise story 👍👍👍👍

A.) Drogon melting the throne legit brought me tears of surprise and delight. Animals always know better. Even CGI ones. And second, as someone who never read the books and only watched and fell in love with this show, I'm still waiting for a spin-off about Arya exploring beyond the edge of the map. The possibilities are ENDLESS!! 🤯 I'm totally cool with and have accepted this series ending (as a show-only fan), but I think I'll always be a little burnt I never got my pirate explorer Arya spin-off 💘

I never minded her becoming the mad queen. I just think they should’ve developed that plot line like the earlier seasons and fleshed it out rather than just jumping on it. Pretty sure before D&D we’re planning on doing something like 11 seasons until they got offered a Star Wars trilogy. I believe they just rushed it to get to Star Wars instead of taking their time and waiting for the winds of winter to come out. I doubt that book would’ve been out by the time they got to it in the show even if they waited longer but at least they could’ve used that extra time to do at least a decent job for themselves.
@MrMeddyman9 ай бұрын
I think there is a lot of precedence for this to have been what happens even in the books, it's just the manner in which they ended it on the show and lack of development makes it feel weird. If George ever finishes the books I expect it to be a bit bifferent, Valonqar prophesy and all the other things the show doesn't go into. But GoT isn't GoT if Dany takes the throne and everything ends happily ever after.
@lisag50029 ай бұрын
They sort of did. Go back and watch some of Dany's reactions and more entitlement she started to have. HBO really wanted 10 seasons.
@SKIllITY209 ай бұрын
@@lisag5002 oh trust me I have gone back to check and am finally about to start reading A Dance with Dragons. They could’ve fleshed it out at least a bit more. Just comparatively to how they adapted the first few seasons. Even though her turn makes complete sense after some thought and it would be good for the audience to be just as shocked as say Tyrion. I think if they took the extra time people would be more so mad at Dany rather than the show. Which I feel like should be the target but it ended up being the cherry on top of a season with heavy issues in so many other places. I feel like they were going in the right direction with almost everything but it was all just so rushed.

I'll add my 2 cents as I find the decisions in these final seasons a bit differently than most, I think. It was sloppy in many ways but a lot of the decisions were really good. 1. The Mad King who was always depicted as demented and psychotic but we learned he was driven that way by grief the same way grief drove Danny's madness in the end. 2. Jon was depicted as the most honorable man in the show and Jamie was depicted as the most dishonorable man, labeled "The King Slayer" but its more complicated as we know. Jamie ended the Mad King's life to stop the endless killing spree and Jon became the "Queen Slayer" and essentially exiled for his actions. The both coming to the same conclusion is pretty poetic in its duality. 3. The Hound's hatred for his brother originated from the burn on his face. Fire was his only fear in life. His final revenge taking place as they fall into a sea of fire comes full circle. 4. The most tortured family in this show, the Starks, end up ruling everything. You could even imagine Jon being the leader of the free folk. I'm cool with that as Things I found sloppy. 1. The speed at which they had the war this season left very little for character depth. 2. Arya being the pawn in which we could see the perspective of innocent people. I would have loved to have rather seen her kill Cersei and then dying in Jamie's arms as the castle caves in on them would have been a cooler journey for Arya. Or something of that nature. 3. We're suppose to believe that the unsolid would just let Jon live after we just watched them eliminate without mercy every solder of the enemy. Then just be cool with the decision of leaving his sentence to someone else who just exiles him and then just be like, 'ok we'll leave now' is weird. Don't know how that should have went, but not like that. 4. Small one, but every decision that Robin made at the council made no sense. How does he go from being a complete brat to just following the herd. 5. The entire show was about the decent that drove the 'Game of Thrones' but everyone can all of a sudden unanimously agree who wins is weird. I know they had to have a way to be like, here's the winner. Just felt forced even though I like the outcomes of the Starks being the heroes. There's probably more on both sides but those are my big ones.

Dany always said she was going to take it, "with fire and blood", she would burn the men in their stone houses and their iron suits. There were so many times in the series when she made it absolutely clear that she was more than willing to be ruthless. She is a tragic heroine and this was her story arc. Just like Stannis always made it clear that the Iron Throne was his destiny and nothing was going to stand in the way of his destiny, and he followed that commitment to his doom.

I know people have mixed opinions but I feel as if in the end the show was about The fall and rise again of the starks. It was about them losing everything and in the end reclaiming everything as a family. John simply just isn’t a stark. Their parents would be so happy and it is a full circle from first ep of Sansa wanting to be a queen and Arya wanting to be a warrior . It’s the story of fire and ice.

Jon should have been king, and Tyrion the Hand. For some reason Sansa being the queen of the North bothers me. Like she’s power hungry and she doesn’t deserve it.? I know she’s been through a lot, but every single person on this show has.

The perfect ending imo. Dany gets preggers from Jon. Goes back to Dragonstone to keep safe from the battle against the dead. She dies in child birth like a lot of Targ moms. Jon rules 7 kingdoms with his baby girl ❤
@imthewolf19 ай бұрын
The ending made sense to me. I figured Bran was going to be King after he made it back from becoming the Crow. Dany was turning into a Hitler around s5. Follow me or die, no more you can choose to follow me or go. Sansa got to be Queen. Arya wanted to be an explorer and did. John never wanted to be King and was happiest North of the Wall so thats where he went.
@SeriesNerd9 ай бұрын
First didn't like the ending but now kind of fitting when you think about it: 1. GoT got famous for the unexpected turns and that we NEVER got what we wanted. John or Danny on the Throne would certainly be nice - but boring forseeable. 2 Daenarys turning mad makes sense, she had 50% of it in her and had moments before not showing mercy. 3. The Night King was not at all interested in John but always in BrAn, so he juged him way more important. 4. John always said that he didn't want the crown and kind of a good ending for him to break free and be with his beloved Wildings at the end 5. Arya and Sansa end like they always wished. Would indeed have been great to elaborate more some storylines like Argon Targaryon, Cersais "simple" end (but again unexpected from the "big" revenge death we wished). But the budget has to be considered too and how many more years can you get such a huge main cast continuing with locations all over the world. Let's be realistic. So all in all maybe not my favorite choice of king - but a wise one, which is great (just give him a proper titel instead of Bran the Broken which sounds ridiculous😂). Still a fantastic series - can we just stop complaining all the time? ❤
