I literally got one of those out of the dumpster. I plan on making it play good to give to a kid. Nice work👍🏻

Make sure you get the hardware and wiring right, wiring likes to fail a lot on my customized guitar

That's a terrific job Tom, definitely one of your best. The headstock looks super and matches the body very well. A very good instrument for surf rock style. Thanks mate, very enjoyable.

Wo! Tom... so cool, Brother. I gotta admit... when the video first started, I thought... man... that is one ugly guitar! I didn't think there would be much if anything you could do to make that guitar nice. Or attractive. But you pulled it off. So cool ! Love what you did with the head-stock. Man... how do you come up with this stuff? You really are an artist. And a guitar-artist! Congrats on that resto.

@Cole-Force you seem to know more about it than me,lol. It was from my local goodwill, and was actually $15 after my friend's discount. Even at that price I almost didn't buy it, because it was so rough and missing parts.

Nice job :) What kind of pickups did you use? Do you remember how many Ohms they are?
@TomPetersonRefuseReuse Жыл бұрын
Oh, sorry. I meant to share that, but sometimes it gets to be too much. They are new mini humbuckers that came with a guitar kit. They are 11 Ohms.

Are you using Dupli-color "Perfect Match" paint and then the Dupli-color Acrylic Lacquer - not the clear "perfect match" lacquer in gloss? My local store only has the Acrylic lacquer in a Matte clear. Are you using the matte clear, but polishing to a shine?
@TomPetersonRefuseReuse Жыл бұрын
I think I used clear lacquer, but I've used perfect match lacquer too. It's not matte clear.

what's the toggle switch for...? tone mod???
@TomPetersonRefuseReuse Жыл бұрын
No, the original wiring was both pickups together, I wired them up with one volume, and the toggle switches between pickups, like a Les Paul.
