Yeah, I mean this is literally the "mascot" Batman suit. They used this suit when they had Batman be a guest on Elmo's late night show. People are being way too harsh on it. It does it's job. It's a suit meant to be worn more frequently than the movie suits.

Using a movie suit would be very polarising. This star isn't for Affleck, pattinson, kilmer or bale. Its for batman, and none of them are the definitive batman universally so I like using a comic book inspired suit

To me, I’d rather them use a suit like this. Right now a lot of DC fandom is very… divided, and I think if they had used a screen used or replica suit from one of the movies it would’ve led to a lot of arguments online, with this, instead of having arguments about why they used the Affleck suit vs The Pattinson vs the Bale suits, you just have Batman at your event. I think it’s smarter to not use any “interpretation” from the movies and just have Batman at their event, after all the star is for “Batman” not Batfleck, not Battinson, and having any specific movie suit would’ve shown favoritism so it’s better to just have a comic booky Batman there

When Chris did the Movie World gig, I attended dressed in my Batman Returns cosplay. The staff were incredibly helpful, offering clear guidelines on what I could and couldn’t do, which I completely understood. They have to protect their primary character, Batman. Although the event advertised that cosplay was allowed, they were a bit hesitant about letting me enter the park, understandably to avoid any potential misrepresentation of Batman. It was an eye-opening experience, showing just how carefully they manage and protect their characters.

It was a shame no live action Batman actors were there yes. But multiple voice actors for Batman did appear such as Troy Baker, Jason O’Mara, Diedrich Bader, and Hamish Linklater. I do wish Kevin Conroy was still alive for such an occasion and because he was such a good person.

For anyone wondering, they did have batman actors in attendance they had (to my knowledge) 4 batman voice actors in attendance. In fact, the group even took a group photo acknowledging the late great kevin Conroy with a caption saying" we all agreed kevin is the best"

There’s legit nothing wrong with this suit, and this wasn’t for a particular version of Batman, just for Batman in general. They’ve used this suit multiple times for public appearances, and it’s primarily for kids to be excited about seeing the caped crusader out at an event, so for whiny fanboy babies to be complaining about this of all things, just further solidifies how toxic fandom has become in pop culture in recent years, and why I try to stay away from the fandom side of things, I just enjoy what I like on my own and stay away from the arguing, complaining, and just pure nonsense. This suit doesn’t even look bad man. It’s not supposed to be movie level, this is for the kids, not to impress grown ass adults. And honestly, nitpicking and complaining about a public appearance batsuit is beyond ridiculous.

That suit or a version of it is also used at the London toy fair. I've got several photos over the years. I'm sure the first year it was there was when Spin master got the licence. He does look similar to the spin master figures. Just think of him as a mascot suit.

The only issue is they want him to smile at events. The suit is fine. It hits all the major character points and is more character inspired than movie. Remember it is about 80+ years of Batman to a couple years for films.

This could actually be a good idea for a new suit for you Chris. As opposed to doing a movie version or the pirate Batman do a suit based off the current comic version. This suit could look amazing given a few upgrades. Have there be an armored looking muscle suit under it, upgrade the cape/cowl a bit, weather that bat symbol some so thats its not all shiny and new.

Had they used a movie version suit, IP wise it would “oh that’s Batfleck Batman” or “that’s Bale Batman” etc What they had to was just “generic IP” Batman Which is basically spandex cowl and cape It looks fine, you recognise the character Job’s well and done

That’s… just the New 52 suit. I’m a little annoyed that the New 52 suit is synonymous with the “mascot Batman” suit. The actual iconic suit that is used in MOST promotional material is either some variant of the 1970’s suit (light blue and grey with yellow oval symbol), or the grey and black suit by Jim Lee. The logo tends to be the branding symbol which goes behind the batman comic title font from 2010-15. It’s also the Arkham branding logo. THAT is the evergreen batman suit. Hope Greg Capullo gets something for this suit design being used 😂

Rights issues aside, no one movie bat suit is a universal favorite. They work in the context of that particular movie. Although I enjoy the Nolan movies, the suits were my least favorite. I much prefer 89, Returns, Battfleck and Battinson suits. But I could see those not working well for an event like this. A generic suit works just fine. It's to celebrate the star and character, not the suit.

Well, all this legal stuff simply sucks. But they could have improved that suit, just to make it look better. Anyway, I'm happy that Batman has his own star now. He deserved it even as a fictional character. He is my favorite superhero of all time. In fact, he was the first superhero on the TV that I watched when I was a kid and since then he became my favorite. Sure, there is other heroes that I like too, but Batman will always be a №1 for me despite what haters say and despite what anyone says.

Fox owns tv rights, that’s why Gotham was on Fox. So technically Disney owns some degree of Batman specifically. Therefore, less legal hoops to get through.

It sounds like this event was not done by WB or DC and was done by an independent group who raised money to put Batman’s name on the walk of fame. This is probably why they went for a generic batman suit rather than a specific movie suit because they could be sued for using a copyrighted design from the movies. I imagine if this was officially done by WB they probably would’ve gone all out and maybe have done it on batman’s 100th anniversary.
