They announce him last and have him perform last for ratings. This kid is the entire show, if they have him perform 1st, people won't watch the rest of the show and they're looking for ratings. This is a Cat Stevens song. My favourite version of it is by Ronan Keating. Iam is a close second. He did an amazing rendition considering he's not yet a father himself. I was soooo nervous. Clearly they know that we all want Iam to win and they just want to keep us on suspense to keep us watching. Also, the audience might be so loud if they announce him earlier on that nobody can hear the rest 🤪

During the live broadcast, this second song by Iam seemed to fall a little short of my expectations. It was sung well, I just thought it wasn't as impactful as "Lava". Subsequent to the live performance, I've had a chance to listen to his rendition a few more times. Thinking about it in the context of the original version sung by Cat Stevens made me realize how good a job Iam and his team did in creatively interpreting the song.
