It's a bit refreshing to see Mr. Regular in a situation where he's not totally comfortable or knowledgeable. It makes the whole idea and aim of his work that much more accessible. It was almost a humble review in the way that Mr. Regular was basically riding shotgun while the owner did all the explaining. This is why I watch this channel and this is why Regular Car Reviews is for the people.

I know some people who bought a used 40' RV when their home was foreclosed. It's a family of 4 that lives comfortably, and they have a lease agreement with the RV park they're at which makes their RV payment + Spot Rental less than renting a studio in the same part of town. Not a bad deal, considering they get to own something for less than the price of renting, and it had already passed its' major depreciation point. (Plus they can always just move somewhere else if their careers require it, no fussing with flights and shipping like most people...) They do like to travel now and again, and since they live in it, their home goes with them whenever they vacation...
@hendo33710 жыл бұрын
This is what my old lady and I want to do. Why get pinned to a fixed location. Even if work stays stable for a long time, if we ever want to take a vacation or go see family that live a long ways away we don't have to sacrifice our comfort or personal space to visit. You can take a vacation without really having to pack, just grab some groceries and fuel :D Don't like your neighbors, sick of where you're at...move. It wouldn't be something everybody could handle but, I think we could. We move to a new apt we have zero equity in every year anyway, I have been moving all my life with the military career of my father and myself. I think it could be great.
@Iboo3010 жыл бұрын
Well, it kinda sounds interesting, but despite all the "luxury" in that thing I can´t help but think that it would feel like you´re camping your whole life ... think about it, you just have limited space, a family of 4 would have to make some compromises, so no separate rooms and not much privacy etc. and you have to clean out the tank of your toilet every couple days ... I can understand it´s cheaper than renting and who´s in on it can certainly do it but you can´t really compare it IMO ...
@Alexanderofthe9th10 жыл бұрын
Iboo30 I completely agree. The idea is very romantic but when reality sets in its not the most ideal living situation.. home would never really feel like home. Plus cleaning a septic tank would fucking suck, I like being able to just flush and forget. That more than anything is why I wouldn't live in an rv
@Iboo3010 жыл бұрын
Alexander Chavez yeah, definitely ... :)
@Blezzerker10 жыл бұрын
Iboo30 That's an awfully suburban way to look at it, there are actually still nomadic cultures that exist today and I assure you that you'd take the RV over a yurt any day of the week. It's certainly not for everybody though.

Hey Mr Regular! A shout out to your right hand man in riding next to you. He is patient, relaxed, has a good sense if humour and seemingly no qualms whatsoever about you driving his home. Many people are easily nervous or watchful the moment other people touch their property. It's understandable I guess, but it makes me respect somone so who is a little more detached from it. Also, he was considerate and understanding, telling things you need to know and letting you know that he'd stop talking if you needed to consentrate. I think I would like a person like him next to me the first time I'd drive a so called 40ft RV. Otherwise, I really wouldn't be able to relax or stop worrying about keeping it out of danger.

Any vehicle can be dangerous. I don't really think the kinds of people who can afford a $300,000 vehicle got to where they are in life with reckless wanton behavior. Trust me at the end of the day more laws and restrictions serve to hinder us more than help.
@s5020110 жыл бұрын
hendo337 Just b/c you aren't reckless it doesn't mean you're not capable of endangering others due to inexperience. US roads are large enough that ppl are ok for the most part, but it'd an ounce of prevention for a pound of cure to offer, say a day class to practice in a safe environment & certify or something like that. And charge $ for it. If you can afford a $300k RV, you can afford a hundred or so dollars or w/e for a day class.
@Iboo3010 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree with you ... to be able to drive such a huge vehicle here in Europe you need to have a bus or truck license Idk, rv´s aren´t that huge here, the larger ones are more like wagons you put behind your regular car and tow them and even for that you need a separate license, but it´s easier and cheaper as it´s just basically an upgrade to the normal car license ...

@TrevorReis10 жыл бұрын
Calm down evan, its a joke.
@RiceReaper10 жыл бұрын
Evan J An L6 would be a completely different engine. This in likely an I6, or straight as its often called. The straight 6 has perfect balance, Which is very important for diesels since the components are much heavier. The V10 the other guy mentioned was probably a gas engine, Which was very common at one point. But the engines had to be massive to produce only enough horsepower, and they tended to be quite loud and thirsty for fuel. The diesel in this is probably much better on fuel, more powerful and since the engine is rear mounted - much quieter.

I'm a truck driver, of course we can sense you're not one of us, you're in an RV. An RV is definitely not one of us, we're cautious around RVs, they tend to be driven by amateurs. We have to train for a month or more to get a CDL A, yet any idiot can drive a full size RV with air brakes without a special license. You can drive a Civic poorly? Good enough, here's a monster RV. Good luck! PS: you don't need to use your turn signal in the Love's parking lot. PSS: I've been to that Love's many times, now it's special knowing you've been there. PSSS: Our trucks are usually 15 liter inline 6 cyl engines making 500HP and 1700-2200 lbs ft of torque, 7.7 is child's play.

A friend an my rented a 25ft RV a few years ago for a trip through Europe... starting in Bielefeld over Amsterdam, Dunkirk all the way to the Normandy. It was great and chaotic but there are stories from this trip which are EPIC an will make us laugh when we’re to old to remember our names so it was worth it!

Any car is a car you can poop in, if you don't care about the car.

Or if you REALLY care about the car. Alternatively, one could poop on said car.

Funny review. You can always tell when someone hasn't had to drive a 35 foot long uhaul countless times in their life...big vehicles get a lot easier with practice!

Torque is in lb-ft (pound-feet) ft-lb (foot-pound) is a measurement of energy. They're actually two completely different units that often get confused.
@Koop92tc10 жыл бұрын
I really don't think it matters in casual conversation especially when you verbally signify what you are talking about. (3 ft)(2 lbs) = (2 lbs)(3 ft)
@AdamH102910 жыл бұрын
Koop92tc That's kind of like saying that 3 miles is the same as 3 seconds though, they are units for two very different measurements. Sure, people know what you mean but as an engineering student little things like that annoy me :D
@Koop92tc10 жыл бұрын
In an engineering setting yes. But since both torque and word are measured by multiplying a force by a distance the order of which ft and lbs comes in makes literally no difference for either unit. The order that "ft" and "lbs" are just assigned arbitrarily to differentiate between the two. Much like the sign convention on the direction of heat transfer. Neither one is right or wrong we just chose one so it makes sense to everyone.

That's how my friend's F-450 is. I had to borrow it a couple times and you had to almost floor it in order to get up to speed. If you pushed it half way to the floor or just a little bit further, it wouldn't shift. The motor would rev up and get close to the redline but it wouldn't shift. He said he wants to put the ZF five speed in it and I said that would be a good idea.
