IIRC those RetroSound stereos like the one mr.regular wants to put in this have preamp outputs so theoretically he could have someone do a stealth stereo install that keeps the look of the car but is also obnoxiously loud with like amps and subs in the back so totally possible!

Upgrade the brakes and suspension as #1 priority. It will be worth doing and will be let you drive it with a heavier foot on the gas pedal. Modern, high quality shocks are better than anything that could be on there and will make a huge difference when cornering and handling rough roads. You could look at a full suspension replacement kit to a more modern system, but that is going to cost a lot. Get the bushings all replaced, grease everything and check your springs to see if they are still in good shape and within specifications. For the brakes, at least upgrade to power brakes. You need better stopping power...badly, especially if you want to do in town sharp cornering in that boat. I would personally look for an after market kit for converting to for wheel disc breaks just because of the weight of the car, but again, price. The good news is the galaxy is well known enough to have conversion kits that would be direct bolt on probably. As always, ask your local hotrod garage for advice on these things.

As someone who owns a 66 with the same motor, I would recommend keeping it. Now you can put a cam, intake, and some other small things to and you've got a runner. Not fast enough to get you in a whole lot of trouble, but that's not what a 352 is built for anyway. It's a dump truck motor in a car. Yeah it's got 250-300hp with all that work done to it, but if you get the right cam you can achieve damn near 400lb/ft of torque. That FE will keep running no matter what you do to it as long as there's oil in it. Don't count it out yet. With all that torque it makes an amazing burnout machine too.

A buddy of mine just got to drive a 352/4bbl/4spd Galaxie with 16k miles on it. I'd just try to match that spec with the Sniper system and roll happy. For brakes, I'd get the Wilwood front axle setup for stock wheels/spindles. Comparatively inexpensive, quality hardware. They also give you good instructions, which is just lovely. Are they _actually_ gonna perform better than stock heavy duty drums (if equipped) ? Maybe. Maybe not. But you'll be able to stop more than once or twice without fade, which is clutch in modern traffic. I wouldn't worry about the rear drums at all. Add a dual-pot power booster. Good enough Stereo: retrosound + good speakers. Custom Autosound makes a pair of two-way speakers designed to fit under the front seats to fill the audio gap left with a single front driver (I have no experience with these but I'm probably gonna order them for my '62 Cadillac anyway). Suspension: rebuild, clean up, maybe add adjustable shocks and some good swaybars if ya really feel it necessary. Upgrade your low-hi headlamps to Holley Retrobrights. They look almost stock and the performance is absolutely worth it. Match the flat lenses with some Hella e-codes for the high beam lamps. All set and they'll look stock enough to fool anyone not paying attention. You don't want none of that UFO-looking bullshit on your ride anyway.

Whether you're just getting groceries, cruising on the highway, or hauling ass somewhere with the pedal to the metal, All I Want must be played at least once when started up.

One quick, straightforward way to get disc brakes on the rear is to source a Ford 9-inch rear end from a Lincoln Versailles. It might be too narrow for a full-size Ford, and an aftermarket Ford 9-inch is probably cheaper and easier to source (and they can be had with discs), but the Versailles came with 14" wheels and rear disc brakes. Looking forward to the adventures!

I'm confident you can stitch your own seat covers. If i can figure it out - - you for sure will be able to. I'm no genius, and mine look okay. Just a heads up - if you plan on using a sewing a machine with a really heavy fabric, you really do need to get a heavy duty machine - most household ones won't keep the pickup timing correctly with the big needles and heavy thread needed - plus they usually don't have enough room under the walking foot to stack two layers of fabric along with the foam backing. I ended up doing most of mine by hand after spending a few dozen hours learning full blown sewing machine repair and maintenance and then coming to this realization.

Upgrading the fan to a large electric fan would be a really good idea too. Mechanical fans don't work that well and really don't move enough air in traffic, especially in hotter climates. Look at replacing the radiator with a new aluminum one as well. Cooling is vital for any long cruising and city driving in the summer and this beast is definitely a fair weather car. Keep it cool and happy. Don't be like the guys on Roadkill and overheat all the time. Run long life coolant as well. Why? The chemistry. It keeps scaling from happening and from rust contaminating the cooling system. This keeps the coolant as a coolant instead of a brown sludge that kills your water pump quickly and clogs your radiator. Speaking of the water pump, unless you get a brand new/fully reconditioned with a brand new water pump engine, put a brand new water pump on that engine. You don't know what was ran through the old one and the seals in it are probably old enough to have grand children.

For build, definitely suspension and anti-roll bar technology. Look into Mustang 2 parts, lots of aftermarket support that can be applied to non-mustang body on frame cars. The 14" rims are small, but they might be able to fit brakes from the mustang which had 15" rims. Aside from that, basically any disc combined with a powered brake booster and fresh tires should be an improvement over stock.

I had the same problem with the drum brakes on my 1959 ford galaxie. if you want to use disc brakes, ford offered them on the granada with 14" rims and they will work. wilwood also offers a 4 piston conversion kit for the factory spindles that will also clear a 14" rim but you need to use disc brake 14" rims off of a mustang gt from the 60s or any other disc brake car that had 14" rims. if you are going through all the hassle for the disk brakes then i would highly recommend upgrading to a dual master cylinder with a modern 7-8" sized booster. conversion kits for these cars are readily available and not too pricey. LEED brakes makes a decent booster kit.

Okay, i didnt even grow up with crazy taxi or really know much (at all, im 26) about it, but I LOVE seeing builds and plans like this come together! So my question: if you want the car to MOVE, but you don't want to deal with carburetors... Why not go with a sniper 4 barrel install is a 2? I know originality with the car, but if going with a new fueling system, why limit yourself with what you can get out of two barrels? Suggestion: idk how much experience you have sewing, my suggestion is for patterning, see if you can find similar seats in *decent* condition, document, then seam rip them as your patterns for the new seats. Cheap way to practice sewing and patterning: get yourself some bedsheets from goodwill. Great value for massive amounts of expendable fabric! Best of luck!!

suggestion for a possible disc conversion for the car, depending on the lug nuts pattern 4 lugs or 5 or even more, the best option is to look into import either European cars or Japanese ones from the 90's, if lets say for example the pattern is Daihatsu Feroza (Rocky in USA) lug pattern is 5x139.7 on 15" if the car has a 4x100 you could look at VW golf , jetta , Honda Civic eg's, Toyota Corolla's from the 90's, you can fit those discs with some adapters and have a more decent stopping power, hope to have helped a bit with this small suggestion

As a fellow Crazy Taxi fan I'm so hype to see you doing this. Do you have the RC Car?

You should find some slightly larger like 16" wheels that look OEM and take a hub cap and get some Willwoods under it. That thing really needs some good brakes

Even 15"s are on the larger side for this era, I'm afraid it has to stay 14". Far too many people are putting oversized wheels on older cars, completely kills the look.
