Dolly. It's amazing how just uttering that super-human's name makes so many of us pay immediate attention with an instantaneous smile. And you incredible musical artists pay beautiful homage to the goddess-among-us we all call Dolly, becuase of course you would.

Nice version... actually it was written by John Sebastian and originally preformed by the Lovin' Spoonful back in 1966 .... 8-)

Thank you! I knew that I knew the song, but I don't think I've ever heard the Dolly Parton version, only the Lovin' Spoonful.
@petermorris60522 жыл бұрын
@@johnstone1740 My pleasure. Loved the Spoonful, bought their albums (still have 'em), learned to play everything (isn't that what guitar-wielding high-schoolers do?) . 8-)

Yes, this is a John Sebastian song for the Lovin' Spoonful. I don't know where Dolly Parton comes into it. But as always a fantastic Reina cover version.

This is a cover of a cover. The song appeared in the 1966 album "Hums of the Lovin' Spoonful", and was written by John Sebastian, rhythm guitar player, main singer and composer of the band. The Spoonful fused rhythm and blues, jug band music, country and rock in a very creative way and were, along with bands like the Byrds and the electric Bob Dylan, among others, the first US reaction to the first "British Invasion", which had begun with the Beatles arrival in 1964. The Spoonful's best album is Hums, and it contains other country tunes like "Nashville Cats" and "Darlin' Companion", both written by John Sebastian. "Darlin' Companion" was covered by Johnny Cash and June Carter in one of their albums.
