Wrong. Pioneer DJ was sold and separated from Pioneer (the home theatre and car audio/video company) many years ago. The team at Alpha Theta (formerly Pioneer DJ) is the same that created the very first CDJ. They changed the name of the company to AT in 2020 and Pioneer DJ exists in name only as a product line. Understandably, they are moving away from the Pioneer name to establish and create a future for themselves, and not promote another now unrelated company.

where is this feature to select quality over speed for the stems? Ive noticed an improvement in the stems but i havent seen that option yet but i know how rekordbox loves to put things in random places

The FLX10 pretty much does everything the GV6 does 🤷 but has stem separation that is unique and no other controller has the FX features on the stems solely. Just spend the money and get the flx10 lol.

The fact they made the Groovebox features released on the GRV6 available to other devices is cool. Sure you need the core plan but the added Stem quality is also dope. I still feel that although the XDJ is an awesome bit of kit, it is still overpriced in relation to featureset and what the competition offers. Awesome podcast. Thanks.

It’s a pity that people and our dj community didn’t appreciate and give the SC6000’s from Denon enough - triple the feature set, connectivity, streaming features etc… at a third of the price… sure you want club standard and until that changes and if you’ve got the cash, why not. ✌️I haven’t touched a laptop since owning my SC 6000’s because you can do all your workflow on the players. Really underrated. 🎉 I’ve used Traktor, and all the modularity you can build is amazing too, with the devices and controllers. Was a Rekordbox user for a few years but got my SC6000’s and mixer a year ago for R100,000 less than a set of Cdj’s because price point was important… really happy with them.

Best stems platform? Bout to get my first controller and stems seem SO COOL. I know you’re not married to a platform but platform can inform your equipment. Only plan on being a hobbyist.

I think they should have put stems on the pads at least and maybe stem fx buttons for if you use it with a laptop. It's odd how this replicates the cdj setup but still uses pads at the bottom unlike the opus and and grv6. It does have the benefit of being able to see what they do on the jog screen above though. Are you going to get confused about using hot cues etc when using CDJs if you use the AZ?

The whole groove circuit thing is just a sampler + drum stem mute. It's rather easy to recreate it on a FLX10 and a bit more annoying but still doable on any other pioneer controller that has a sampler mode.

Virtual DJ still has the best stems by far. I just don't use VDJ. Stems isn't part of my routines as much to make me want to switch.

I use it all the time and it's mainly because it's so easy to work with and yes the stems are in a class by themselves. I've tried all the others except traktor and there's still more bleed with stems on the others when compared.

Good review and all, but it sounds AWFUL when you hit that button to make some reference point for yourself, but it sounds like an iPhone getting message alert blasting right next to my ear (listening on headphones as i'm sure many, or even most do). Please reconsider this approach. Thanks

Is it worth getting this if you already have a mixer - just get CDJ 3000s? £1600 price difference. It's The downside is my mixer is not pioneer and i'd rather have a pioneer (Xone 92) and CDJ would only be 2 decks not 3 or 4. 2 is probably enough 90% of the time.

"It has not enough power for Stems" Customer price for an Intel 12700k is currently at 220€. The Xdj-Az costs 3300€.... 🫣🫣🫣 You can't tell me that it is not possible in 2024 to get the power to a standalone controller at that pricepoint 😶‍🌫️
