Relaxed Hair After Natural Update | Blow Dry and Flat Iron

I am finally getting around to posting my relaxer update! I haven’t relaxed since my initial relaxer back in December after being natural for 3 years. I am currently 5 months post. This is the 2nd time I have flat ironed my hair in this time. If you have any questions just let me know. Thank you for your support and enjoy.

Looks great! I’m 10 years natural and it was honestly harder (for me) to maintain relaxed hair. I think that’s what the whole natural movement was about. A lot of us who never got to experience our natural texture finally got acquainted with it. Some of us thrived and some of us realized that the grass was greener on the other side. But the black community (especially us ladies) got a chance to reclaim our hair and decide what the best route was for us. Not forced to choose either side for fear of not knowing. For all the relaxed ladies out there I’m glad you did what’s right for you. and I hope that whoever reads this (relaxed or natural) has hair that’s thriving the way they’re want it to be ❤️

I thinky my hair will grow faster straight because natural hair the tangles and single strand knots are terrible and causes breakage. I realised when i blow dry my natural hair keeping it stretched it has grown alot more and faster its crazy i dont think id straighten it because it will most likely revert but just my natural hair being blow dried my hair grows faster and less time detangle because the shed hair just comes right out. I wash/blow dry once a month no heat damage and i been protecting styling the whole time back to back.

Your hair is beautiful more 10x more healthy than my natural hair looks right now. Natural does not equal healthier and I’ve leaned that the hard way, it’s all about what you do with it. Also thinking about perming my natural hair soon, going natural was never a decision I intentionally made was just something I did years ago cause it was the “thing to do”, never took care of it that much. Never wear it out so yeah. I don’t get why everyone shames each other over it.

Unless you have a medical condition then ofcourse your hair can look like hers. 👍🏽💜 Hydration Vitamins Moisture/Protein deep conditioners🙂

@@hawaiianBombshell you don’t even have to do all of that. Just low manipulation will help retain length. I literally do the bare minimum to mines. I use 2 hair products argon oil grease, and gel for the edges and styling. Use water for moisture. I keep mine twisted in 10 twists for weeks. I will retwist like once a week without combing it just finger detangling and twist it back up. I do not use heat and I wash mine once a month and only detangle once a month. My hair is almost her length and it’s also been 3 years for me as well. The key to growth is low manipulation and keeping it moisturized. I found that grease works for me. I only grease it once a week.

@@TikTok-Comps23 I used to wash mines once a week, but I got tired of doing that because as it was growing it was requiring more work and effort to detangle so I stopped out of laziness lol. Once a week is fine as long as you stay consistent with your hair regimen and keeping it moisturized. Even if you slip up and don’t wash it it’s ok. Just try not to manipulate your hair too often to prevent breakage, and keep it detangled as often. I’ve been wearing my hair stretched for awhile and I’m seeing results that way versus when I was wearing puffs or wearing it curly.

I'm relaxed BUT I was just natural for 7 years till April & TGIN Honey Miracle Moisture masque is #1 hands down🎇 Also Shea Moisture Mafura & Manuka Honey masque. For a protein treatment Hairfinity Amino masque is great but pricey.

No not at all. The relaxer isn't the problem, not following instructions are! Make sure your hair is virgin hair ABSOLUTELY NO color/bleach. Leave relaxer on as instructed rinsing out if there's any stinging & definitely use a protein deep conditioner 2x a month. I've never had any issues with relaxers💞
