I'm very proud of Colleen for evaluating and addressing her behavior, that is not easy. I personally get really defensive if I'm called out on something if I know my intentions were good and that's something I need to work on and that's not easy to really look at yourself through the eyes of others! Honestly I was very annoyed with her on the last episode but she has restored my faith lol

Erik’s personality shines more and more every episode, and it’s such a wonderful thing to see! You two clearly have a connection that is incredibly hard to find, and seeing the little moments between you two has always been my favorite parts of vlogs. I’ve never felt the need or want to comment on his lack of camera time because obviously that’s his autonomy, however it’s almost relieving to see him start to let himself simply exist as himself on camera. If not for your audiences, but for you guys as well, because how beautiful is it to see him genuinely be part of family videos? (Even if you don’t post them, save them for personal viewing!) Also, his personality is very cool and unique - I’d love to hear about his hobbies, fashion, his day to day life, etc.

Sure she’s calling herself out but she’s only doing that is because other people called her out for it first. The issue is that she keeps using her story of “I grew up so sheltered” (which I’m not saying isn’t true) but if she grew up so closed minded and so very sheltered then she should do research before she talks about things that she has no idea about. She has millions of people on her platform and she should definitely be researching into the things that she’s going to talk about. Yes shes a mom with kids but there are a lot of people out there, some that I personally know with even more kids than her (if that is your argument), that still makes sure to be educated before they start preaching. If she’s going to say that she’s not sheltered and closed minded anymore, and relies on her alliance with the lgbtq+ community to prove that to be true, then why is she still saying that real life things are so crazy? It’s better to just admit who you truly are rather than to try and prove to people that you’re the most open minded, non-judgy person there is. The people on the internet are not how you get your education 100%, that is just ridiculous. Using the people in your audience to learn, only when they say something, is so crazy to me.

Colleen, huge props for owning this. This is why we felt comfortable saying something. It didn’t feel like you. I am pretty prudish myself but it felt weird and uncomfortable. To be screaming “abstinence” at this time was a lot. Also huge props for understanding that intent is not the same as effect. the fact that colleen's first reaction was to make a tiktok about receiving hate comments after comments were trying to educate her on addiction & how some don't have the privilege to grow up so sheltered. Nobody grows up aspiring to develop an addiction. And, addiction can affect anyone regardless of income, sex, race, how sheltered you grew up, etc. I appreciate how she's acting now and trying to use this situation to educate herself, but how she acted initially reallyyyy rubs me the wrong way.

I tried badly to comment on this on that video. People should also be able to consider Colleens experiences though cause of how sheltered she was she goes through things differently. Being “sheltered” does not mean you lead a charmed life it can also lead to issues in your life and we should be able to not judge that then as well. People saying she was showing her privilege actually offended me a bit cause privilege means you had all the opportunities and being that sheltered to me, means she missed out on some important social rights of passage. No offense to addicts or sheltered people meant of course im just badly trying to explain myself

Just want to say Thank You So much Colleen for hearing us and being open to listen and understand where we are coming from. I’ve been a fan for so long and was feeling so torn over this because feeling any kind of upset at you wasn’t a feeling I’m used too. It’s relieving to know you care and don’t think less than a fan who has walked a different path then you. Love you guys

I really appreciate you, Colleen. My older sister was an addict when I was growing up and speaking from experience, the way the show depicts it is very accurate and I relate very heavily with Gia because that was my experience, and I really appreciate you taking the time to talk about the seriousness of the topic. But also know I didn’t think you were being mean or seriously judgmental or anything. You’re still my favorite KZbinr. Much love, girl🖤🖤🖤

Colleen: we still live like we have no money Also Colleen: spends money on boba and groceries she doesn't eat and ends up being a waste Not trying to be negative bc spend your money however you want, but it's tone deaf to say that you don't or think that you don't live comfortably.
@sophielopas5593
@sophielopas5593 2 жыл бұрын
if you watch her vlogs everyday she hardly orders boba and stuff like that anymore unless her family (nieces and nephews) or Kory come over. Y'all try to cancel anything and everything. It is literally not "tone deaf". You can buy a $2 drink and still live like you have no money. coming from experience. People should be able to talk about their personal lives without having people cancel them because they got their feelings hurt.

@@DGraziosif lol u rlly thought u ate, she apologizes every episode because of attempted ostracism after literally every other podcast. All I'm saying is people get their feelings hurt and try to run with it. She suffers from depression and I'm sure everyone coming at her every podcast episode isn't great for her mental health, because we all know she has no harmful intent. If she wasn't so self aware and handled criticism well, she would've been "cancelled" like people tried with her March 2020. Don't take it personal hun, just taking up for her since her comment section is so negative and her mental health status is not the best. It probably doesn't feel good to constantly feel like you mess up every episode because people are sensitive.

Honestly, Erik’s response to Colleen feeling the need to apologize is the most important part of the start of this podcast. I think people who are not as active on social media do not feel the same social pressures to avoid offending people with this degree of thought about their words. Colleen, I think you are a wonderful person and I don’t think you were judgmental at all whatsoever. I’m with Erik here.

I love that even though it took you so long to get to "the rich game" you still went through with that process. It is how your brain works, it is your thought process and it is so cool to see that others think the way you think. It's just so awesome to know that I'm not alone in that!!! Please always over explain, it is awesome. Also just means we get to listen to you even more. (Also, I think that just makes you an even better story teller.
