Being a tradesman, I encounter a number of aches and pains on a regular basis. Neck and shoulder aches are among the worse since they tend to linger longer. I had physical therapy today actually but before my lower back & shoulders were bothering me so i had to move my heating pad between areas, have tightness after lumbar fusion, I like the look of the one they have one that covers the full back and the neck so no longer having to prioritze painful areas.

I had so much pain in my upper shoulders the other night that it actually woke me up. Had to take some ibuprofen. The next morning, I looked around and found this video. Did the stretches. While not 100% gone, wow there is a relief difference. These have helped greatly. Thanks so much.

Thanks for sharing these tips. I had some back pain last month and another of your videos really helped. I'm a pianist and I spend a lot of time in one position at the piano, and on the computer, so I get stiff and tight shoulder muscles. I'm sure these stretches and exercises are going to help.

Thank you so much for making this video. I can't say what these stretch's will do over time yet but just doing them once I already feel better. I have been going to a chiropractor at 8 months 1-2 times a week and I am still in extreme pain all the time. I have lost all hope and have no idea where to go from here but I am hoping that if I continue to do these exercises daily I may finally get some relief.

Hi Dr Jo, I had my second covid vaccination (April 2021) in my right upper arm and my arm became swollen and painful, so whilst sitting down I restricted movement in the left arm. However, even though the swelling went down, I found I couldn’t sleep at night due to pain, muscular and nerve pain, the pain was up my neck toward my right ear, across the scapula and I had a shoulder pain near my clavicle and in the region of the rotator cuff. The pain is now affecting my left shoulder and I’ve not had a proper nights sleep for over a year. I know you can’t diagnose without seeing someone but I wondered if you think there maybe a bursitis issue from the symptoms I reported. I initially thought is was frozen shoulder but it’s getting no better over time. I have seen a physio but the exercises he gave didn’t help but aggravated. Your exercise seem to be helping - in so grateful but I’m just curious what went wrong after the vaccination- the issue came so quickly and taking ages to leave🌺

Thank you for this. Strained my left shoulder and i got NO sleep last night. I am left handed so i did your routine from this vid and it seems to be working fairly quick. The worst is when it hurts for 3 days. It even gave me a headache and shooting pains down my left arm.

Thank you so much. I have spinal stenosis. I don't know if that's the cause, but I have been suffering from the absolute worst tension in my shoulders neck tightness on and off in the center of my back knots in my shoulders. On off tension headaches. Immense pain and I have just been suffering for a year now. I feel like I'm trapped in my own personal hell. Heat and cold help, but these exercises seem to do wonders.. I can't even lay down. Neck hurts so bad. I hope this brings the relief I have been desperately seeking!

The neck and shoulder pain gave me a horrible migraine that I took ibuprofen 800. Doing stretches the next day because I feel that shoulder tension. I’m so tense I might need to do a couple more stretches throughout the day.

Hello, Dr. Jo. I've had supraspinatus tendinosis for about three years because of a negligent doctor who failed to diagnose my bursitis for two and a half years. A year ago, I found a physical therapist who put me on a program of lifting very light weights (like going to the gym, except the dumbells weigh only two or three lbs), and it's helped. My most recent MRI showed that the tendinosis had improved from moderate to mild. The problem I'm having is with consistency. I'm constantly getting hurt, since the tendon is still fragile, and I haven't been able to keep my routine going for more than 5 weeks straight through the course of the year. What do you recommend for tendinosis?
