I remember my first Fuddruckers experience was in 1987 AD in Baltimore, and you can see the large sides of beef in the fridge through a window. It was one of the best burgers I ever had. Since then I have been to one near where I live in Emeryville, CA maybe about 2-3 times. It was no longer special. That is a good fixin's bar, much better than the old Roy Rogers. Cool video, thanks. I think it is worth saving.

I grew up on Long Island in the late 80s/early 90s and my dad would always take me to Fudds before we would go to Islanders games at the Nassau Coliseum. Without question, Fuddruckers is my most nostalgic childhood restaurant with Pizza Hut #2. That location closed many years ago and I now live in Ohio (where none exist), so I rarely ever get to go now. However, I did visit a location in PA last year and it was everything I remembered (I got the 2/3rd lb burger)!!! I still go back to my Facebook memories just to look at the burger cuz I miss it, haha. Great video!!!

Fuddruckers was DA BOMB! You could order venison burgers and buffalo burgers, regular burgers, a nice fixins bar. They had great atmosphere and good workers there too. I went to their Newark, Delaware location, but they closed down in 2021 because of the COVID shutdowns. I"m glad you were able to improve your dining experience by ordering the 1/2 pounder.
@jeremyepstein79773 ай бұрын
This is what happens when you let corporate run a brand into the ground over the years. They could reinvigorate the brand as classic burger spots are absolutely in but they are unwilling to invest in order to do so. The interiors need to be completely refreshed and they need a proper brand marketing campaign...that would go a long way to bringing younger diners in. Hopefully the new ownership can simplify the menu and make positive changes.

We used to go to the one in Coconut Grove (Miami) when I was in high school in the late 80s. That one had a bar and one of our friends found out you could get like a big plate of tortilla chips at the bar for like a dollar, which we would then take over to the fixings station to make very LOADED nachos. One time the manager was so upset that he unplugged the cheese sauce thing & plopped it on our table, as if to say “if you guys are going to use so much cheese sauce, then here take the whole thing!” 🤣He may have also been upset because perhaps we might have also been putting soda in the free cups for water 🤷🏻

The buns were always a thing at Fuddruckers and were always huge. They even made a bun add to counter Wendy's "Where's the Beef" add at one point. One thing that really made Fuddruckers what they were - 40 years ago in their growth phase - was that when you walked in you would stand in line next to a glass-encased room with sides of beef hanging in it. I know it sounds weird probably for those who never experienced that. But you'd look at those sides and think, "those are tomorrow's burgers - and the burger I'm about to eat was hanging in that room yesterday!" It was brilliant marketing and just did something to your brain during the experience to make you believe you were about to eat the best burger you'd ever eaten. Anyway - I still enjoy Fuddrucker's when I can get it, but without those sides of beef the experience just isn't the same.

Fuddruckers for my friends and I in High School as well as my older brother and his friend group had many of fine times there and was reserved for special events and celebrations. It was a thing like “this (insert win) calls for Fuddruckers!” They would ask for your name when you ordered so they could call it out on the loud speaker 🔊 so whoever came up with the most creative name won. They’d be inside jokes instead of the lame “Ben Dover” or “Batman” like the amateurs (South Jersey, the long ago closed Turnersville location). Also accurate and true description in the intro.
