Yup 4.8 6.0 all the ls motors. Eventually the orings get brittle or weak and cause cavitation issues in the oil and cause low oil pressure. I've replaced around 20 orings in different ls engines. It never ceases to amaze me of the engineering on these things. You know they were thinking, hmm…is that going to be in the way when a repair is needed? Ah, who cares…put it there anyway. It used to be simpler to work on vehicles, but nowadays they try to “cram 20 lbs of junk into a 5 pound box”. I can never reach certain items and end up going to my local mechanic for the fix. They always thank me for putting it back together before bringing it over. I guess some people give up and tow it?🤷🏻♂️ If I can see right away that something is beyond my knowledge, I don’t even attempt the fix. I guess some people don’t do things this way. Once I required a lift, I’m out. I don’t have one, so that’s a professional job. I also like that you clean up after a fix, some shops don’t bother and then you come home and think they didn’t fix anything because of “residual leakage”. Keep being honest and complete, that’s one of the biggest reasons why we watch.😁

Your attention to detail is very rewarding to see. You did, however, confuse me for a moment when you talked about replacing the o rings on the dip stick tube. The tube you actually worked on has always been referred to as a pick up tube as far as I know. The dip stick tube holds the the removable stick for checking oil level, while the pick up tube transfers oil from the pan via the pump to the oil passages in the engine. Internal oil leaks are indeed as important as external. If the oil isn't getting to the pump, it's not getting to the critical components. Nice Job.

As far as missing bolts goes, they tend to say that you missed a bolt because the LS engine oil pump has two locations for bolts to go, but the intake tube only has one location for a bolt to go where it connects to the pump. There exists a bracket that goes over the intake tube and attaches to the other hole in the pump for those interested though.
