Great instruction video and good tip about the 2019/2020 version. When I ordered I especially asked for the 2020 sticker on the box and got the right one. Also good tip concerning the interface pad. Best video I found about the CarPro FlyBy Forte!

Took me 90 mins to do... when prepping properly and really taking your time. Didn’t polish as it was a brand new car but did the full de contaminate steps. It applies so well you will find even without circular motions it will clear away the haze

Excellent presentation - thanks. My RO only has a 5mm offset - could i use it, or should i get one with a larger offset? I do also have a rotary - could i use it? (or is there a risk of buffer trails?)

Greg Sullivan - Firstly thanks for watching and your kind comments. You can use your 5mm offfset. Larger offset means you correct better and faster but you can most certainly use what you have. Buffer trails are less of a risk on glass as it is much harder than paint/lacquer - so it really depends on user confidence. This is a REALLY great instructional video on prepping and sealant a windscreen, just what I had been looking for. I do have a couple of questions though, what kind of coatings are you meaning when you say Ceriglass can remove them, do mean other sealants that I may have applied in the past? Or maybe coatings on the glass that are there from the manufacturer? Surely if there are old layers of other sealant or protection product on the glass you do actually want to get them off to allow the Carpro FlyBy to properly bond to the spotlessly clean glass? I have heard of detailers using super fine wire wool to clean the screen instead of a blade. Is the end result significantly better than say Rain-X which actually worked very well for me in the past. If I'm not sure about any coatings on my windscreen then what other polish compound should I use instead of CeriGlass? Wouldn't a find polish from Koch Chemie do like M3.02?

Hi SteveRabbits - Firstly Thank You for your kind comment. Great questions. Some manufacturers used to put protective anti-reflective coatings on their windscreens. You may remember driving past some Mercedes or Renault vehicles which had a purplish tinge ... these are the coatings we were referring to. You are right by saying that any other protective layer added by the owner should be removed to get squeaky clean glass prior to applying any product like FlyBy FORTE or Rain-X. Super fine wool pads would also work but we prefer using a blunt(ish) blade. We would say that FlyBY FORTE (properly applied) in our opinion lasts longer than Rain-X although Rain-X is good. If you go the efforts required to install a windscreen coating properly then you ideally want the longest protection out of it. We’ve seen FORTE last 2 years properly maintained!Another product we would recommend is Intenso Coat by Kamikaze Collection. If you’re not sure then we would recommend the Glass polish by Meguiars. Although in theory you could use compounds/polishes designed for paint we would advise using a dedicated glass polish. They contain glass cleaners which cleans/polishes glass much better. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I've just done a total refurb of my XK black gloss alloys (hope I don't have to do that again for a loooooong time, what a pain!) Next job I want to tackle before I machine polish the bodywork is the glass hence the re-watch. I'm looking forward to this MUCH more than I was the alloys 😂

Yes, some people don't realise just how much effort detailing can be to get right - especially if done properly which sounds like you did on your alloys - LOL. Really informative vid, nicely done. Too late in the year for me but one put aside for September or October. I've spent a long time getting a very badly applied coating on my 2nd hander, so come the time this method and product seems the business. Thanks for sharing. PS. The supplier where I get most of my products from has CarPro Flyby 30, I gather its the same as 2020 you used?

Tony Joe - Flyby 30 is different to FlyBy Forte. FlyBy 30 is graded as a 6+ month coating, whereas FlyBy Forte is graded as a 12+ month coating 👍🏽. Thanks again 💯

Rain-X does the same job for a fraction of a Glass coating. This Flyby Forte is the Version 3 and wasn't as good as they claim. There is a new Version 4 out now that fixed the issues of the V3.

sir thanks for the video. I have followed the steps for cleaning, decontamination, but when I finished cleaning it with the applicator block, fine scratch marks appeared due to the wipers (previously covered in mildew). can I continue the coating application to the glass by ignoring the scratches. my goal is to cover the fine scratches with the glass coating I used.. greetings from Indonesia

Unfortunately due to Long Covid we have been unable to produce any new videos/content for some time! We are hoping to produce content as soon as possible! David Blomqvist - Yes. FlyBy 30 is applied using the same process. It just doesn’t last as long as FlyBy Forte. Also with this product make sure your windscreen IS TOTALLY DRY before you apply it as I can damage wet windscreens. Don’t apply this to your wipers ... we find ReLoad works better 👍🏽

Chris Ryan - Firstly thanks for watching & great question! Clay on glass in most cases would be about 90% as effective but using a razor ensures you get the cleanest surface possible. It’s not an option on paint so while you an use this option on glass it’s worth the extra effort. Coatings are only as effective as how clean you can get the surface they are applied to! Chris Ryan - There’s no need to clean the applicator block as you use a clean cloth for each application! However if you really must clean it anything will do - water, or soap! 👍🏽🙏🏽🚗

Get enough product on the cloth so you have good even coverage - nice even thin layer - but no drips! Good Luck.
