ACTUALLY it s pretty simple, you don t have to remove anything, you just open a little the box put your air filter inside and that s it.

That is true, although if you want to check or clean the mass air flow sensor ( which I called the mass air filter sensor in error ) removing the top of the air filter assembly certainly makes it easier. Many people clean the MAF sensor at every filter change, and just as many do not know that they exist. Perhaps I should have made that clearer, so thank you for the comment. What I wrote regarding the locating lugs on the lower edge of the housing was proved true when I recently changed another Outlander air filter for a friend, and we found that the top of the housing and the intake tube were covered in dust, and that was because the mechanic who had last serviced that vehicle had not put it back together properly, and dust was being drawn in behind the filter.
