Removing our Ferguson TEA20 Hydraulic Lift Cover

Watching you struggle lifting off the cover reminds me why I made the little bolt on lift bracket, it make removal so much easier, I seem to remember there are 2 lifting points on it so the cover can be wiggled off, I am watching this excellent video as I have to replace the piston rings in my lift cylinder, now I have watched this it looks like I need the get the Ford conversion piston kit! I am in BC Canada. Trying to learn how to getvthe hydraulics working on my Ferguson. These videos really help. My quadrant lever rotated down when I was freeing up the stop tabs, and since then the system will not drop the lift arms. I hope I haven't msdeva mistake by trying to lift the cover without removing the pump and the yoke at the bottom. Thanks again.

You may have bent the control valve but if so it is easily fixed.

Check the O rings on the stand pipe and possibly do a filter change.

First, thanks for all your videos! I'm envious of how easy you got your lift cover off. Mine's seriously stuck, I've tried whallop:ing it with a sledgehammer from underneath (with wood inbetween to not damage it, hard to get good hit anyway) and lifting the entire tractor rear end in the lid but it won't come off. I'm unsure of how violent I dare to get. Do you have any tips or tricks on getting stuck covers to become unstuck?

I have used wood on the final drive and a big bar to get them loose at times.

@@locustvalleyfarms7241 Yup, wood on the final drive and a big bar did the job. Since the tractor was split I didn't have adequate weight in the front end to counter the torque of the big bar, but applying a wife as a counterweight on the gearbox end solved that 🙂

@@niklasedmundsson6107 great! Hey this might sound dumb but ………I have a Ferguson to 20. The hydraulics work OK. But they are tired. I was thinking about rebuilding them……. Can I just take that top cover off and rebuild them? Or do I have to split the Tractor for something?

@@locustvalleyfarms7241 You don't have to split the tractor but it's a bit of work. Look through the Bundy Bears videos to get a hang of how it fits together.

How do connect the spring on the top cylinder that operates the lift.

The one that holds the arms that goes to the hydraulic pump ? There is a hook at each end of it, probably way easier with the top off.

White smoke is often a leaking injector as in un burnt fuel, Blue smoke is oil burning and black smoke is over fueling or blocked air intake system.
