About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

The difference between your chateau and the others is, while the others are beautiful and would be amazing to stay at, yours will be an experience. Your guests will be able to get a taste of what an elegant lifestyle would have been in centuries past. Each chateau fills a niche for different types of guests. I think it’s amazing the amount of work, time and love you’re putting in so people can have that experience. ❤

What fascinates me is that "back in the day" when these fabulous chateau were built, there was no electricity or power tools......everything was done by hand!!!

I do understand how some renovators want to restore a place to its original glory, but Terry wants to restore to the best those eras had to offer and is not satisfied with less. His vision is magical!

I don't always understand what my husband his in his mind, but other the years I have learned to trust his judgement. and when he tries to explain, I still don't understand. Just nod and say okay and wait to be amazed. Ash understands that about Terry already, it took me forty years!

Terry, PLEASE use a mask when cutting/sanding plaster. You may think “ it won’t hurt, just this once” but that dust builds up in the lungs. We have a dear friend who hung plasterboard and sanded it and then painted it for new house construction for a few years when he was a bivocational pastor. He just underwent a double lung transplant. You are too gifted and deserve to be able to enjoy your restored Grand Dame in your older age. Please take care of yourself! 💕

My imagination went wild when you started talking about this room!! You must have a weekend when the guests bring costumes and dress up for dinner at least one night In period costumes. That would be SO MUCH FUN and people could bring out their creative sewing skills or rent a costume! I would love to fly over for that!!! This room is gong to be spectacular! Notching the drywall out is exactly how you do curves! Same with wood in arches. Well done! This ceiling design will give so much depth & detail to that room. Like chauffeured ceilings

It’s harder to work with existing architecture than to build something new from scratch. You do it beautifully with such flair and good taste. I love the recessed ceiling effect you’ve created for the bedroom, as it adds such interest to a plain old ceiling! The canopy is going to be gorgeous. I love watching the early steps as it starts to come to life! Ash, your narration has always excellent, but you have developed your ability to an amazing degree. We have 1/4" plaster board for curves but score it closer than 1" to achieve a smooth curve without cracking.
