Graphics cards are soldered on to the motherboards for the most part now-a-days. Buy the best you can afford since they have moved to non-upgradable models in the effort to make them as thin and light (and cheap) as possible.

@@HPSupport I've been building PCs since the mid 90's, and understand that a card spec'd for PCIe will work in an appropriate PCIe slot. I also understand that, in the USA (and other countries), there are laws that protect consumers against warranty denials for modifications. The burden would be on the manufacture to prove said modification(s) caused the malfunction. Since PCIe is a standard, HP would have a hard time proving that using hardware specified for PCIe is the root of a malfunction. With this said, would you please answer my question about weather or not this laptop model even has a replaceable WLAN adaptor? I would much prefer to not pull my hardware apart to find that there isn't one when you could provide the answer. Thanks!

Don't forget their design is splash resistant and I have seen way, way worse in my 22 years in the IT industry. I've had to pull a MB to get a keyboard out in early 2000s laptops.
