Thank you so much for this video. I never heard of Folex, but found it easy enough and cheap. It worked like magic on the ceiling of my motorhome. I had a very large stain, and found the strain on my neck too much. I got to thinking maybe I should try assisting gravity in getting the dirty liquid out, so I tried using a wet and dry shop vac. It worked like a charm!

OMG it works! Alleluia! Yesterday was hours with the hydrogen peroxide quick fix. Did not remove the stains completely. Tried vinegar, then bleach diluted. Did not completely clear a 3 foot+ stain in the seam of the ceiling. Today, ran out and bought 2 bottles and cotton rags. That's the trick, to absorb and blot up the loosened stain. Yes, I prewashed the white cotton rags to eliminate any lint and make them more absorbent - line dried. No harsh smell, no harsh chemicals touching my skin or to breath in. Inexpensive and it WORKS. I needed a small stepstool to reach the ceiling over the bathroom sink/medicine chest and a toothbrush to help 'scrub'. Fingertips agitating the solution works better than the toothbrush - but I need the toothbrush for distance. Lots of rags - cotton was the way to go so I can wash them and use them again. THANK YOU!!! Brilliant! Last thought, did not discolor the lightest blue ceiling carpet, no pilling or fuzz. Make time to blot!!

Hey a little tip. Pull the top out of the bottle and twist the dip tube so it goes to the back of the bottle. Put it back in and it won’t suck air when shooting overhead!! Thanks for the video!!

Great video demonstration. I've been using Folex for over 17 years on carpets. It is not a bleach or chlorine product but it can bleach out some colored carpets. So you may want to do a test spot to see how color fast your material is. Darker carpets could be problematic. I suspect the type of carpet and type of dies used makes a huge difference too. Anyway I just bought an RV that initially seemed pretty clean but upon getting her home she needs a good cleaning. Not looking forward to using this on the entire white ceiling but plan to do so. Also one small staining on fabric backing in one cupboard but overall there is no spots like this ceiling has. Basically an over layer of age and yellowing/graying of fabric evenly across the entire ceiling where no one did any cleaning probably ever and she's now 22 years old. It's a smaller B+. Now the biggest thing to keep in mind is Folex will bleach out fabric. Not sure if it's an enzyme product or not. In my case I will need to go slow and work in over lapping fashion as I work through the entire ceiling fabric. If I don't there could be very uneven cleaning and what would turn into a blotchy mess. I will use lots of older terry hand and terry kitchen towels to soak up the saturated solutions as I move along. I also will wear gloves and use soft cloths or these soft silicone nibbed rubber sponges often sold as face and body brushes to gently rub the Folex into a foam which helps lift out the grime. Some artificial sponges might work to help draw out the excess moisture too as you work along. For years on the floor carpets and throw rugs I saturated much like shown in this video and then using my full weight on folded terry hand towels dried the spots I was spot cleaning. I really do love this product but do not look forward to cleaning the entire ceiling. But it's one of those projects if you start you must see it through or I'll have streaking or blotches or not funny a distinct line of cleaned here and got tired and quit there about half way through. I am not one to quit but right. With luck I might be able to get my hubby to help with the mopping as I work through the apply and gentle scrubbing routine. I also love Murphy Oil Soap but though it no longer advertises it's made with linseed oil or flax oil it is. I'm one of many who suffers severe headaches and misery with Murphy Soap so sadly for the wood work I'll be using other products. Also note this is a stain cleaner not a deodorizer so you might want to use a fogger or very fine mister with Odor-ban or similar products. If misting it you should wear a proper mask and always when using a fogger. It's too cold up here in NW MT to tackle these projects. But as soon as it warms up into the mid to higher 60's I'm ready. Good luck everyone with your cleaning your RV.

Thank you VERY much for posting this. I have the exact same issue with water stains on the inside ceiling of this Motorhome I am buying. It’s a 2000 Winnebago but it only has 46K on it and it runs fantastic. However it sat in the hot Southern California sun and I knew the roof needed to be redone. Anyway, I just had the roof completely redone with TPO so it is now water tight. I will get some of this “Folex” and give it a try. Hopefully it works as well for me as it did for you. I will be back here to post my results as soon as possible 😀

How funny this should pop up now. I have been researching RV renovation tricks and have 3 very nasty places in my old Class A RV that severly need cleaning. I showed my wife your video and she says, Wait a minute." and brings out a 36 oz bottle of the stuff she bought a few years back for our house carpet. She said she didn't like it because it cleaned too well, and would have had to cleaned the entire house carpet with it to keep the clean spots from showing so clearly.... Gonna try this old bottle of the stuff on my RV's ceiling and if it even remotely works I'll be buying some fresh stuff for it. Ihave no issue cleaning the entire roof with it, if it saves me from having to rip out all my Oak Cabnitry to replace the stained ceiling panels.

WOW, I can't thank you enough for this information, bleach would have been my next go to. I've bought many things to try and clean 25 year old really icky looking dark water stains from my RV ceiling and this worked like a charm!! On some of them there are very faint lines, but oh my gosh this blew our minds (and I wouldn't be surprised if we couldn't get them gone too). Thank you sooo much for putting this out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the informative video, I google rv ceiling cleaners, and Folex came up and I tried just spraying on the ceiling and wiping it off and wasn't impressed until I saw your video. I did exactly how you explained the process and worked great, I almost returned it. Thanks again 👍

Thank you so much for this video. Will be tackling the fifth wheel in the morning. I know it's going to work❤

Oh another reason to do a test check even with Folex is I am not sure how safe it is for adhesives or foam linings behind these textured fabric ceilings. Also DO NOT over saturate and only blot with good old light colored terry towels do not rub or scrub too much. I can't rub down an entire ceiling like I have to clean with just my fingers. However they sell super soft nibbed silicone face washers and I think they might work sell and safe wear and tear on my hands and fingers. I would wear gloves just the same. My skin is not as tough as Etard's here. What a great video and job though. I have Folex and like I said just as soon as the day temps warm up enough I'll be cleaning my NEW 2001 class B+ yellow with age ceiling. No water stains and no smoker or cigarette staining just age and maybe a little more here and there due to cooking etc. Overall quite nice just yellowed and a lot of grime from looks like no one cleaned it ever. It had low miles but clearly not lived in either as dinette cushions are good and sofa one cushion will need replaced foam because someone must have chosen one place to sit most of the time. I'll replace all of course at the same time when I reupholster all cushions and sofa. It needs some refreshing TLC.

@@etardadventures9030 I cant even believe I've lived my entire life and never knew about that stuff. I'm telling you I tried EVERYTHING, and NOTHING worked, peroxide made it worse! I was skeptical until about the 5th spray of that stuff! Instead of toweling it off I used a shop vac before I towed it. I'm still in disbelief I'm not gonna lie... Wow, Just WOW. You have enriched my life significantly! Again, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I couldn't be more grateful.

I have used Folex with great success but I still prefer a mixture of 50% bleach and 50% water. On the white rv ceilings for me it does not leave as many shadows and leaves the ceiling brighter. Also it does not ruin everything it touches, cover any materials and just wipe it off any wood/walls it gets on. Also if there is any mold/mildew the bleach kills it. I would use either but would not try to make it sound like bleach is going to ruin your rv. I've found if it is stained bad enough you need to rub use a shop vac instead with a few applications. This keeps the material from becoming fuzzy.
