Removing THICK Melted Plastic From My Exhaust

I'm sure more than a few of us have had this happen to us... Driving down the road and you see some plastic. You try your best to avoid it but end up driving over it. You look in the rearview mirror and don't see it behind you. Pull over to check and you see that plastic stuck to your exhaust... It sucks but happens to the best of us. I'm aware that using heat to melt off the plastic could ruin the properties of stainless steel. But I couldn't figure out a faster way other then a grinder or wire wheel. Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation!

Good luck. The torch was a worse case scenario for me. Hopefully they can come up a better idea that's quicker!

Where did you end up taking it? My car is too low for me to remove it myself, I need it on a lift and idk how expensive it will be

@@c.518 how long the smell last ? I ran over a bag and my check engine threw some o2 sensor code like a month later , could be coincidental but it’s in a hard to reach area and now I’m worry of the smell is something else 😳

I ran over a trash bag and it got melted to my exhaust. I can’t tell how much is stuck to my exhaust but I really need to get it cleaned
