Then try and do them much more upright (as if you were doing pull-ups!) and probably reduce weight. Concentrate on full range of movement and slow and controlled eccentric. Sturdy, easy to use, easy to assemble (instructions didn’t match but easy to put together). Getting the same movement as the warm up bike at PT. Would suggest to order before surgery so you have it home ready to use when you can!!! Doesn’t take up a lot of space-not heavy so easy to move- not using for arms but I think it would work just as well

3 Qs 1) How would you calibrate isolateral variations? Cable, machine, or most challenging the ring pullups. 2) In pursuit of full ROM benefits, opinion on the alternating rocking pulldown? 3) If I cant touch my chest after the first 2-3 reps, should I simply drop the weight? Balancing big loaded eccentric stretch with power curve limitations at the bottom.

Dr. Mike, I am 6 foot 7, watching you have to stand on the seat cracks me up. Let's go halfsies and invent an adjustable height pulldown where you can lower or higher the pulley and bring it to market. I have the opposite problem, I can't get a full stretch bc at the top of my reps I am resting on the stack. I also need a higher pulley for tricep pushdowns b/c I can't get the stretch at the top of the rep there either. I have to get on my knees (which I don't mind, but there is a time and place for that).

I had trouble feeling my lats on a standard cable lat pulldown. Even with Versa Grips, I would only feel my forearms. Well, my gym has a Hammer Strength lat pulldown machine where the handles go from wider to narrower as you pull down. I tried it one day simply because all the cable machines were taken and I LOVE it. I can actually feel lactic acid build up in my lats for once! So don't be afraid to try different machines. Just a slight change in grip or angle can make all the difference for your anthropometry. And use Versa Grips! They are awesome. Also, Elitefts just released a lat pulldown video that is really good.

Hello, 2 months ago I developed a very slight pain in my chest (petcoralis major) from the too many kilos I put on my back when I do push-ups. I trained with pain for exactly a month until I felt that if I did one more rep I would most likely tear the chest. Just to add that I have no bruises, swelling and limited movement. I only feel pain when I stretch my arm forward in front of my body and squeeze my chest (like dumbbell bench press). Just to add that I don't have constant pain. Now I rested for 2 weeks (full body training without chest) and did 2 light chest workouts because I thought I had recovered, but unfortunately it hurt again. I have noticed that from shoulder exercises and pull-ups I stress the tendons of my chest and my chest hurts a little after these exercises. I went to the doctor and he told me to rest for 2 weeks. He said after these 2 weeks to start light weight training but without chest exercises. I'm still thinking of resting for 4 weeks, but I'm worried about whether I'll fully recover. Is it a good idea to stop training for 4 weeks and just in case do you think I need MRI and some kind of rehabilitation? Thank you in advance for your reply!
