@@DADVICETV I have been able to drop my creatinine by a tenth in about 3 months (mainly loosing weight). But I never watched what was good/bad for your kidney's until I saw one of your videos. I looked up and noticed I was eating bananas and oranges all week long, and threw the remaining away right after your video. I will focus more on watching my Potassium intake and see what happens over the next several months.

Hi James, I really like your videos! I think that whole eggs are better for you than just the egg whites though because you need the fat for ketosis and all the vitamins and minerals that the yolk has. I am also really liking Dr. Annette Bosworth's book Any Way You Can about ketones and cancer. Keep up the good work!

Im stage 3, the nhs wouldn't give me a renal dietitian unless my kidneys failed. I am very sad about that.
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
In my opinion that is 100% wrong - yet I hear this almost daily. The sooner you get a dietitian, the easier it is to delay or even avoid dialysis. I am dumbfounded by the number of doctors who can’t see that. I hope that sharing success like mine will help open the eyes of these heartless doctors who see dialysis as the goal.

@NayanBiswas44 жыл бұрын
Can Renadyl be taken at any stage of Kidney disease?
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
Yes. It will be more effective at a lower GFR (Stages 3, 4, 5, or on Dialysis) since it supplements the work your kidneys do by filtering some waste products and toxins from your body before they enter your bloodstream. Don't miss the 20% discount when purchased directly from the manufacturer: www.dadvicetv.com/prorenal - this is a real discount, I DO NOT receive any compensation for people ordering it. Keep it stored in the refrigerator and take it for 3 months to start seeing it's improvements. While my BUN and Creatinine went down considerably, for some people their results may be that it stops the decline. We're all a little different. I was told that adding more fiber in my diet was beneficial and I did that.

When doing fasting, Is water allowed. Also I wake up in the middle of the night so hungry. Is there a reason for that ?
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
Water is always allowed - fasting is only limiting the time when you eat food. You want to always stay hydrated - your kidneys will thank you. When you wake up hungry, you may not be getting enough good fat. Fat keeps you full the longest - so you want to get plenty of good fat for dinner. Things like olive, peanut and canola oils are good fats. There are many other options, but it will depend on how your labs look. This is where a dietitian can help a lot!

Thanks for the videos and all your positive enthusiasm. So is Nutrasystem a bad idea if you're trying to improve your kidneys? My apologies if this question has already been asked! Side note: I recently discovered MegaRed Omega 3 with "6x better abortion" and I really like the way it makes me feel. I think I will take your advice to find a renal dietitian. Is it covered by health insurance?

Hello..I've had a kidney transplant since 3/17...What's the best frozen meal I could eat? (I've been eating Lean Cuisine meals sometimes..)
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
Great question! What I look for (and my doctors continually remind me) is frozen meals with minimal processing. I look for no artificial ingredients, minimal sodium (I prefer to add my own quality salt after I heat up the meal), and as low of sugar as I can find. The good news is that it is becoming easier to find food with less processing - and these are priced competitive. From Sweet Earth to EatingWell to evol. I always read the label and avoid things with PHOS, chemically sounding ingredients, or excessive sodium, sugar, or potassium (which isn't always on the label). Hope this helps! I will be doing some videos with a dietitian soon and I'll make sure this is one of the topics.

James, what is your thought on GKT831 and bardoxolone methyl?
@DADVICETV4 жыл бұрын
I don't have much info on these, but I did ask my one of my doctors about Bardoxolone Methyl for weight loss about a year ago. It has shown to be very helpful in helping drop weight and has positive effects on blood sugar control and CKD. We instead went a different route - extremely low carb kidney friendly diet. I can not remember any negative reasons - but my doctors always try to minimize pills and try to find more natural ways. I also was not diabetic, only pre-diabetic. What I do know, which relates to this, is that blood sugar and blood pressure play a much bigger part in managing CKD than most people realize. It is critical for us to manage both of those - even if we are not diabetic. I will be talking a lot about this next month (which World Hypertension Day falls in). In the end, I have nothing negative to say about it. My gut tells me medication like this WILL BE helpful for kidney patients since it helps with blood sugar. Hope this helps - I would certainly discuss this with your doctor if it sounds like you fit the target.

How can you drink all that water when your nephrologists put you on a Fluid restriction!
@DADVICETV2 жыл бұрын
If your Nephrologist put you on a fluid restriction, you need to follow the limits they gave you. Each person is different and any restrictions should come from your health care team. Water restrictions are helpful at reducing the risk of fluid buildup, which can become very dangerous.
