Thank you. This Chain is so easy to Change. I had made, as i was not ill, the VW 1,4 TSI Chain. No marks on it. You had to Take a clock? In the spark plug hole of the First Zylinder for OT. Some engines had bekome a Chain at 60.000km. but i had liked to doo them. Some needed much more than only the chain. We Always had to Look what VW wanted to Proof or change. My Clio has almost 120000 km at this point. 9 years old. Never had one single mechanical issue, it's been a perfect car. But a few days ago I noticed a rattling noise and stopped by an official Renault shop (in Portugal) and as soon as the mechanic heard the noise, he said that it was the chain rubbing on the top, just like you pointed out in this video. Their estimate is almost 2000€ and they replace everything, including the oil pump (for whatever reason). It makes no sense to me. Why not replacing only the faulty parts, like in the video? But then, since this has the potential to completely ruin an engine, I'm afraid to go to any other mechanic other than the official Renault shops. I'm so conflicted. I want to fix this, but I feel ripped off paying that much and replacing stuff that probably doesn't need replacing in the first place.
@owensautotips2 күн бұрын
@@BrunoPascoalPT seems like dealers like to oversell to make sure there is no come backs if you understand me. So they replace everything in that area to insure it doesn’t come back.. But oil, seals etc yes potentially a oil pump chain but don’t see why you would replace the pump unless it was faulty

Really bad practice not charging lower pulley and oil pump.chain. Should not re use worn lower pulley. In the chain kit you get the lower pulley and oil pump chain and guide for oil pump chain. The wear on the old pulley will prematurely wear the new chain out quicker. Should have told your customer that if u cant do the job properly or not at all. Also you havent changed the exhaust pulley which again will be worn. Simple job of taking sump off and oil pump to do job properly. Good video but poor job. People do not follow this video
