I spent days trying to find a solution to why DOF wasnt showing up, I had to go under the ARNOLD tab, the native tab didnt work. Thanks sir.

Glad you found it. It is one of the frustrating parts of working with (and teaching) Maya: many tools/options have the same name. For example: Extrude (Polygon or NURBS); Depth of Field (Arnold or native Maya); etc... Not a problem once you know but it complicates entry into the program.

Thanks, but how can I focus on first and second spheres? I want other spheres to be blured.
@3dsplanchnic7372 жыл бұрын
Hi - you'd probably have to adjust the focus distance to be just between them and also change the aperture size. Because this is physically accurate it's difficult to have to do something that couldn't be done in a real camera. You could always output a zdepth pass and composite in the blur - lower quality results, but more control. I have a compositing playlist that addresses this. I recorded this one a long time ago so I may be missing some ideas. I'll write back if I think of anything.

Hello i followed your tutorial. but i want it to apply to my render sequence, but everytime i render requence it the Enable DOP is unchecked and my render doesnt apply the DOP anymore :( .

i'm creating a 3D video and i want it to apply in my video. but it seems it only applied to 1 frames because everytime i change frame the DOP becomes unchecked.

Hi. That's strange. It's the DOF check box under the Arnold tab in the render camera. That's the only thing you have to turn on. It should apply to all frames. Make sure you are rendering from the same camera.
