Fun Fact: The owners of Norman's Cay were actually considering letting Fyre Festival take place there, on the condition that they didn't mention anything about Pablo Escobar (it's probably bad for business to mention that your private island was once owned by a notorious drug lord). Billy being billy, decided to mention this in the advertisements anyway to try and drum up interest. Predictably, the owners got very angry and told them to fuck off. Hence, why everyone ended up on Great Exuma.

I think it's safe to say that The Internet Historian's video can be some of the most informative, entertaining and at times mind blowing stuff you will ever hear and watch on KZbin. "Have one failed convention that has a sequel." To be fair, Dashcon _kind of_ has a sequel. The adults running the show tried to set up Dashcon 2015, before rebranding themselves Emoti Con. Of course that failed because, well, they're a bunch of frauds. I forgot if she talked about it, but Lochlan O' Neil has an in depth video in it. In fact she was involved in Dashcon, specifically she came up with the idea on tumblr and took all the blame that Dashcon even exists. But honestly, I can't even really blame her because when she brought in other mods (who are the same adults trying to make another one), immediately kicked her out of ownership and proceeded to run it even further to the ground.

Sounds similar to 8Chan/8Kun. We used to hold a grudge against Fredrick Brennan, the man who created 8Chan (now named 8Kun) because... well, he's the one who made it. But if you actually listen to his reasoning for making the board, it's actually really fucking sad. Since he has had osteogenesis imperfecta (also known as brittle bone disease, more commonly; his body has a mutation that makes one of the primary Collagens used to keep bones strong, as well as used to reinforce organs, basically an inoperable mess that can't be used, which means his bones are more likely to just snap like a twig, and he also will likely have worsening neuological problems, hearing difficulties and problems with things like his cardiovascular system in the future) since he was born, he's always been self conscious about his disabilities, and at one point at the age of 19 in 2013, he came up with 8Chan on the basis of going to 4chan and seeing people be abusive to disabled people (since his immediate peers like family and friends kept saying "you're fine" when that clearly wasn't the case, he went online to see what people "actually thought" of him. When he saw people beating disabled people up and insulting them, he has actually admitted that it was almost relieving to "see someone's actual opinion of me for once" despite a lot of those comments being violent or otherwise harmful towards those like himself. This is clearly not a healthy mental state to be in when making a forum board, when you're asking for people to be abusive because you don't believe people actually care, and essentially want them to prove as such,) and wanting a free speech platform so people can actually say their "opinions." (When interviewed, he literally admits to seeing abusive remarks, at least initially, as just another equally-valid opinion. Which is fucking sad. This is no longer the case, thank god. Self-esteem was lower than the 9th circle of hell for a few years, but it seems he's crawling back despite all this crap, good for him.) After this, Jim Watkins took the reigns from him, his son Ron Watkins started puppeting the QAnon movement through the boards, and it spiraled out of control into essentially a hate depository. And he's since wanted his own creation shut down. -🦦/🖊️

Personally, I'd be very interested in seeing your reaction (or _anyone's_ reaction, really) to the Internet Historian's assessment of the "Balloon Boy" hoax. I realize it's not a popular subject; it _is_ approaching _a decade_ since the incident, but the video brought my attention to some fascinating information I wasn't aware of at the time and that most people probably _still_ aren't aware of.

Another horrible thing they did as well: when you get fired from a company, this is basically what allows you to go on unemployment benefits so you can stay afloat. However, billy, instead of just firing his staff and helping them, basically called up everyone and said there wasn’t gonna be any payrolll for the “foreseeable future”. Which one of his staff pointed out, because that means they would have to quit on their own and therefore not receive unemployment benefits.

Down payment.... it is literally why the 2008 crash happened... when crappy loans are issued... there is crappy rates.... For a successful anything... upfront payment is almost necessary... Spider-Man has become a bit of a "bi-con" in the bisexual community, despite not being bi. And yes, I agree it's unnecessary. As a fellow Fagneto myself, if the main continuity Peter Parker liked to Park on Peters, I think that'd be stupid, unnecessary, and lazy. If they want to do PS4 Spider-Man as bi, I think that's fine, because that's a completely original story. It's far enough from the original continuity for this Peter to be his own character. I wouldn't even mind if Miles ended up bi, honestly. I'd actually prefer that as opposed to Peter. But that's just me.
