some of my friends cut out alliums... That said, I never did. My second child was like Gianfranco-the issues stopped around the third month and he was then my fastest growing baby ; the best eater!

I made them last year and they were delicious. I will make them again this year! As long as Gianfranco is putting on weight, he is fine, probably. We struggled with our son as well, as far as I can remember, after the colic stopped, the teeth started coming out! All I can remember were cries....poor babies!!! But it will all pass....you are lucky your parents are there! My mom, when he got a bit older, gave him the bottle over the night, so that I can sleep. It was exhausting and sometimes I do not remember things, it was a bit of a blur, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! The joy of parenthood! But how rewarding....🥰💕

Hi Kylie, when my baby was born she too had painful colic but was putting on weight (breast fed as well) so the doctors weren't concerned. I tried everything that I knew about at the time. What I didn't know about was homeopathy and homeopathic remedies. I have since self-studied and found homeopathy a great tool for illness in children and myself. Homeopathy has been used safely and effectively for hundreds of years. You might check out various sources on the internet for information about remedies for colic. Your video is so lovely - a work of art actually. It's such a great reminder to enjoy the simple things that bring joy during this season. Thank you, Emily 🙏

Kylie as my son Stephen who is now 39 was a fussy infant as well. I took the advice from my great Aunts who raised many children in Italy and America. They contacted my family in Italy to get Italian fennel which we boiled in water and it helped so much. Boil and drain the fennel. Just about an oz or less helped him so much. The Dr's here in America were not a fan, but for years my Italian grandmothers, aunts etc used this and it satisfied and relieved the Mother from the pain of hearing her baby cry. As my grandmother said, "This too shall pass." Enjoy this beautiful holiday season. As a Nonna and Nonno my husband and I are enjoying our grandchild. They are a joy that will help me through this holiday as I lost my Dad this past May. He was like your Dad an amazing grandfather who taught my children their Italian culture. Hes so missed. Blessings and know that children grow so fast enjoy this time for you will never pass this way again.

Yes, never be afraid of the old home remedies. He's a young baby, and if that crying / discomfort continues, it will be so wonderful. Doesn't hurt to try. Beautiful setting, your home is just so gentle, and your spirit is beautiful. Wonderful husband, parents, joyful season. You're blessed...Sleep will eventually go back to normal, but the way you split the time is so helpful. It's not every new mother who has that support....

The colic would start and our first born was in pain for what seemed like eternity. Just no comforting her. I’ve seen KZbin explaining the different types of crying and some on how chiropractors can adjust the babies to help. We tried everything too! Try giving your little one camphor and anise oil. My son as a baby had colic and we didn’t get rest for the first month or so and his little tummy would knot up. I use to bounce him on my knees and apply light pressure with my hand on his stomach to give him some relief and it helped, but only as long as I did it. Finally the doctor prescribed paragoric and it’s the only thing that gave him relief and first time he got rest.People couldn’t believe my pediatrician prescribed it, but it helped. I’ve heard camphor and anise oil is helpful. Just a couple drops diluted with water. It’s worth a try and may give the baby some relief. Best wishes ❤️🎄🌟🦌

My dear Kyle very happy to see your joy in you for all your labour of love that you put in every thing. I would like to tell you you about my experience with my son I have 4 boys one of them was having same issues as your precious one. From what you say you are feeding him every hour and a half . My son used to cry and would not settle unless I breast feed him but then just for a little time then he will start all over again. Eventually I was so tired and exhausted . I consulted a pediatric he said that too much feeding is causing indigestion and severe pain because of gas he recomeded that I give him fennel seeds tea in between feedings so it will help him have time to settle his stomach. I did and what helped more is keeping the feeding to every 3 hours which helped him a lot. I wish with all my heart that your baby's health improve and that you can have a joyful time caring for him. My prayers for you and your family.❤️

Kylie, you are so right that even (especially) as adults we need rituals. In my family, I am the one who still brings in the gigantic fresh tree, hangs the ornaments given by friends and made by family members over the years, opens up my place for the big dinner, and watches the annual round of sentimental holiday movies. These traditions are disappearing as some turn down invitations because of covid fears and others don't have the energy any longer to decorate or to cook and bake. I hope to be able to retain the spirit against all odds.

Thank you Guido, for the first authentic actual Christmas tree I've seen on all the youtube channels I follow! 🙌🥰 I cannot STAND plastic xmas trees, awful tacky things (and never trees but compact shrubs like boxhedges), the scent of the tree is e v e r y t h i n g at Christmas. I've been so surprized and disappointed everyone is using plastic in this day and age. Nature provides lovely beauty for the holidays, so nice to not see fake flowers, trees and plastic kitch everywhere 😍. The kitchen looks fantastic, the weather too, and your home very warm and festive for the hollidays. I'm sure Gianfranco will calm down over time. It's a phase of transition, main thing is you don't panic and continue to help eachother out, it will pass. Nice to see your parents are there to lend support so you can get a few hours of sleep. Sleepdepravation is exhausting, but by springtime things will be easier I'm sure. Happy Advent friends! ❤️

Such a beautiful and uplifting video. Your son’s colic problems are identical to what I went through with my son. Like you I left out different food groups, but it made no difference. Also in the hospital where he was born he started crying with pain and I was told then it was colic right from the start. He also needed to feed a lot and hardly slept. The midwife said he was long and going to be big and needed the regular feeding with my breast milk, but probably had an immature digestive system that was causing the gas/colic. The good news Kylie is that it does get better in time. He is now a 6’4” healthy man! ❤

Oh Dear little Madonna, my first baby boy was fussy like yours, I did not have my Mother close by, she lived far away. i called her and she said “your baby is hungry, he is not getting enough to eat, because your milk is not rich enough, and you are upset.and tense and he can feel your emotion. Drink beer!! That wil make you relax and let down your milk, and it will be rich and your baby will be satisfied and relax too. Well, I took her advice..I relaxed and baby nursed and fell asleep on the breast and I dozed off a little that first time. After that I drank the beer every day until he got old enough to take a little pablum, and then other food. All was well after that.. You are so blessed and your baby is blessed that you feed him from your breasts, that is the way God intended. Much Love and many prayers from an old Grandma.. 💕🇺🇸

HI Kylie, what a lovely video! My daughter had whats sounds to be a similar situation as Gianfranco and would cry with frequency from what appeared to be digestive issues. We had a wonderful baby nurse from the Islands come to stay with us. She made some "fussy tea" which was a spoonful of fennel seeds that she simmered in water and let cool. She added a teeny bit of raw brown sugar, which we were reluctant to use, but my newborn daughter loved it, and it was like night and day how this concoction would soothe her. She would literally gulp it down from the bottle, and it alleviated her belly issues. Best, Margeau
