A chicken coop???How is that comfy!!
@dottiebaker6623Ай бұрын
@@Lazydaisy646 It wasn't, but it hadn't housed chickens for years, and I cleaned it really well. It had been a truly deluxe chicken house in it's day - one you you stand up in. It had a little wood stove and an old cast iron bed, and a good roof, so I was dry and warm if I needed to be. It was summer - it never would have been habitable in cold weather. That fall I moved to Colorado. Ah, my itinerant youth!

That bit at 6:27 was unexpectedly magical. I love it when stuff works. Also, I keep loving how this channel works. It feels like hanging out with friends doing some good hard work and poking at each other. Add the requisite Monty Python and it's very near my friend group's dynamic. And, my goodness, I wanted to be there to help get the stove inside. Hard to watch and not feel I'm supposed to pitch in, even on KZbin.

You may want to try using spray on oven cleaner on the stains on the fireplace stonework. It does wonders on carbon buildup in an old fireplace.

Do you have a come-alonge winch? Perhaps you could have made a ramp out of planks up the steps and winched the stove slowly up rather than hurting your backs. Just a thought I had. Maybe can try that for the future for anything heavy.

Lovely video. Sweet Brice, looking at you :) Katie, you're quite a sailor! What happened to the stove that was in the center room, the one that Katie put a new seal around the glass? Did it not work correctly? The new stove looks lovely, and it will do a grand job in that small room.

The vents were all sealed either shut or open, so we couldn't regulate the intensity of burn. We want the stoves to be as efficient as possible, so this was the solution. Kx
