You had so much work done! raising the ceilings in like 3-4 places, beautiful onyx tile , tile on the floor, making of another room from the bathroom into a pantry, new bathroom and doing the laundry room and 2 closets! A whole condo of renovations! Not counting the 2- hurricane sliders! All that work adds value and brings it up to code.

In the house we had built the top closet poles could swing down. I’ve lived in construction for a while where I live now as every room has been renovated. So I understand the disarray! Your place will be lovely when it’s done.

Construction is difficulty and quite frankly nearly impossible to schedule a time of completion. . There’s so many factors and unknowns - especially if extras are requested along the way or if items back order or scheduling the various types of contractors - building permits and inspections - plumbers - electricians - tilers - working around everyone’s calendars. So don’t be too hard on the contractors. It is frustrating to have the invasion of contractors traipsing through the house every day and the noise every day. We most always do our own work but it is still maddening to be in the middle of it all. But the end result will be so wonderful!

I have never even heard of farro. I will have to try the recipe for sure. Your renovations are going to be so wonderful. Can't wait to see all the finished work. Carpenters are really busy in Florida these days. Polk County (Haines City/Davenport) area where I live is insane with growth. It is hard to find workers period.

Love the updates, yes, it us always good to make a change and get a new look. It looks great such a good idea. Love the new pantry YES. Plus as we get older a tub is no longer needed. ENJOY ❤I have the steal shelf too, made me so happy to have place for my 2 Instant pots and things makes a big fifferrnce difference.

Glad to see you using that cast-iron skillet! My cast-iron skillet was given to me by my stepdad, who got it from his mother. We’ve been married almost 61 years so I’m sure my cast-iron skillet must be close to 100 years old. It was caked with grease on the bottom and my husband scraped it and fired it off so it looks like new. Years ago we were told not to wash our skillets.

Yes, do jot wash with dish soap and every so often "season" with lard, crisco, or cooking oil. By coating with oil and letting it bake in a hot oven for a bit ( forget the exact time amount and temp) my granny and momma had cast iron that was their grannies :)

I love farro! I cook it in chicken broth, and then add olive oil, balsamic, tomatoes and cucumbers. salt and pepper. If it's not a side and for lunch ill add chicken too it too

Wow, that is really a major renovation. Cannot imagine how you can do all that in a condo. What are you giving up with all this, to make room for your new pantry.? we had our master bath remodeled a couple of years ago after my husband had his first knee replacement surgery. We had a very narrow pathway to walk in the dining room because everything from the bathroom and the closet was removed so that they could work on it. It is the pain during the renovation, but so nice to have it all done.❤

The meat is called Fajitas (skirt steak) . It’s what we in Texas make tacos out of.. take the clear skin off and cut in strips, cook it and cut it on bias so it won’t be tough.. great taste..
