How do i het the roof to stay open half way? Mine drops closed in about 30 seconds not enough time to get string through

Great video. What do you do if the plastic part inside the headliner is broken? The one that you used a screwdriver to open for the string to go in? Thanks

I've had the same issue on E350 (2012), first followed this same approach but wasn't long before the string popped back out again...my current solution is a small tie wrap through that anchor location and through the liner string...but the tension over time breaks the small tie wrap eventually as well, hoping someone has found a more permanent solution?
