Excellent explainer. A few tips if you're doing this for the first time: 1. Put a cover on your floor. There will be water spilling from the hose you remove and the plastic legs will scratch your floor. 2. Take a video of the hose location before disassembling anything. 3. The water lead (the one bringing water into the machine) and the electricity cable tend to get stuck under the machine when you put it back in. It'll take you a LONG time to fish them out. Instead, tie a string to the end of each one and keep that end dangling out of the bottom of the machine so you can easily pull them towards you. 4. In my machine, the mounting screws were on the sides. Remember to remove those - it might look like there are no screws inside - but if you feel *any* resistance to pulling out the machine - it's the screws.

I appreciate the information provided in the video. Unless I missed them, there are a couple steps that would be helpful. The side panel of the dishwasher needs to be removed and one screw should be removed before the dishwasher is upside down. Since my dishwasher is already in use and hardwired, I had to disconnect the electrical connectors at the dishwasher. The electrical cord was not long enough to allow me to turn the dishwasher upside down.

This repair was as easy as it showed in the video. HOWEVER.... my original online order got messed up, and had to reorder the part several days after the initial breakdown... which meant the unit sat unused for a a bit over a week. So this is a heads up to anyone who may have a similar situation, the water left over in the dishwasher got real stinky, almost gag worthy. And it spilled on my floors, I didn’t have enough towels.... A word from the much wiser now... have extra towels to soak up excess water, mine leaked under the stove and cabinetry and I’m having a hard time getting the smell out... don’t be dumb like me. Otherwise a great video on the repair, but there’s more water in there than you think, so be prepared!

After searching for a plain hose with no luck, I ended up having to plug the black tube. I did this by epoxying the port from the white "U" to the black tube. Works great and I didn't have to spend any extra time and money on buying and installing a new water inlet.

Omg, what a fiasco. This could have been a 30 minute fix without that unnecessary black tube. How long has it been since you used the epoxy solution to the problem, and is it still holding up?

My hose cracked in more than one spot. Why doesn't LG provide a better quality hose? Rubber instead of cheap, thin plastic?

Need Help. My LG LDS5811WW is about 5 years old and the cracked drain hose needs to be replaced. The old one did not have the extra vent tube like the new one (AEM69493803) does. I presume the vent tube connects to the top of the Water Inlet, but the diameter of the vent tube is too big for it. I am not sure what to do. Appreciate any assistance.

In this video it shows the small black rubber hose connecting to the bottom of the older version? (your newer version part number 1267810 ) . However the drain hose you have listed on your site is a newer version with the black hose now connecting to the top inlet so one would also need to order the part 127810 from you as well. Right ? This video does not apply to this new version correctly. Am I right ? Just trying to sort this all out. Thanks.

The new part # 1267810 is the same as the old one there are four hoses hooked to it three at the bottom that come with the new assembly and one that connects to the top that does not come with the new assembly. There should not be anything different. The small black hose at the bottom goes to the water valve. The upper small hose is a vent tube. Hope this helps.

*Note - If your dishwasher DOES NOT have the port available at the top of the water inlet then a new water inlet RepairClinic Item # 1267810 will be needed to install the new drain hose assembly. Happy Fixing!

Same Problem - My LG LDS5811ST does not have any vent tube ext for this new black hose to attache to? If I buy this replacement hose explain what do I do with the extra black tube? I have no place that it can attached to on my older LG Dishwasher

I removed the hose and found a little black solid rubber in it. you don't talk about that rubber in the video, does it mean it's not necessary?

It's not that complicated, don't unhook the electrical wire from the bottom of the dishwasher, just unplug it from under the sink, I would do the same with the water hose.

Super old comment, but my wiring is hardwired back to the box and just disappeared into the floor behind the dishwasher. So I had to disconnect the electrical from the dishwasher itself. The supply hose idea was good though.

I don't understand why you are directing people to buy a new water inlet when they don't need to? How about helping us find the correct hose? My dishwasher drains fine without this "New water inlet". I just need plain hose that's not cracked. AEM69493803 is a replacement that works on some models, but not on my LDF9810ST. A plain 10ft LG gray plastic hose, one without the white plastic "U" and without the black rubber tube. Finding a plain hose is much easier than trying to connect extra parts to port that's simply not there on some models.
