Repairing 92-96 Ford F150 Windshield Leak on Our Truck!

Our 94 F150 has been suffering from a leak from the windshield. We wanted to get this repaired ahead of the rainy season. This will walk through the process of removing the trim, removing and replacing clips and resealing where the leak was. We hope you find this informative!

I didn't want to use silicone, so I got black 3M urethane seam sealer. I cleaned it up first by scraping a lot of messy windshield seal that had oozed out from the previous windshield install. I cleaned it out with bushes and acetone, then brushed in Ford color white paint (I have a white 1995 F150). Then I troweled in the urethane as best I could so it went from the exterior paint up to the windshield edge. I put blue tape all around so I didn't get any on the paint. When that dries I'll test it out with water before I put the trim back on.

Thanks for the detailed explanation on getting the clips off. I also had to take the bottom piece off and it had the double clip but still came off no problem with the same tool. Bottom trim has plastic clips installed that fit into the double clip.

Our leak was coming in from the top so we did not have to remove this piece of trim.
