Replacing a Headlight on the XJR

Since purchasing the Jaguar XJR last year it has always had a cracked headlight. We finally had a chance to replace the headlight with a good used unit. Follow along on how to replace this on your X308 Jag.

Egg-cellent work! I changed my headlights on my Celica many moons back, and it made a huge difference. Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference!

Nice work. I found I could pop off the lamp from the assembly while the assembly was in the car using the same process you used when the assembly was off the car. Always use soapy water as a lubricant otherwise, there is a danger of breaking the plastic sockets as they slide over the ball. I used this process to fix my broken lamp on my X308. I used an extra long flat blade screw driver. No realignment was needed and it took perhaps 15 minutes to remove and snap the used ebay lamp back in from the front. Thanks for posting on the Jags.

Once again, thanx for posting these great detailed Jag vids. Just a warning........This car has several never ending void spaces to watch out for. One is beneath the J-gate gear shifter trim and assembly. :-)

These headlights break pretty easily, a bunch of rocks came off the back of a truck on the highway and recently an extremely minor fender bender cracked one. Good video man

Great job man. The outer light of right headlight unit on my XJR is sweating, so I am thinking to replace it if it gets worse (currently I'm fine with its sweat level though). If I decide to change headlight unit on my Jag, I know what to watch prior to doing that - all perfectly explained.

Are these the same steps required to change the bulbs only? As far as removal of everything?

Do we need to replace both light? cause mine only broke one like you should i just buy one or have to buy a pair like you do?
